LADY BEATMAKERS: DOCUMENTARY ON FEMALE PRODUUCERS
HEADLINES ON THE SOURCE.COM (11/15/06)

The Home of Female Music Producers, DJs & Emcees and co - producer of She's My DJ Battle has done it again. Femmixx.com has produced a documentary dedicated solely to female music producers. Here is their story - the struggles, the journey, the fight to be seen and heard as music producers. Lady Beatmakers: Vol.1 the highly anticipated documentary produced and directed by Tachelle Shamash Wilkes and co - directed by Tony Forbes is putting female music producers on the map where they belong.

Tachelle Shamash Wilkes expresses, "Ever since DJ Gary B and myself started Femmixx.com - we knew what we had to do. We had to let the industry know that female music producers exist and they are about to flood the music industry with pure talent, new ideas and hot to death beats. We have Lady Beatmakers who get down, rugged and raw, just like the guys when it comes to making beats."

Josie Carr who has produced and engineered for Mary J. Blige and Mobb Deep, Latacia "T.C." Lewis, a violinist who plays while making beats, Shakti, known as "The Indian Hip Hop Diva" who has international notoriety and has worked with the likes of Russell Simmons, Jewel Brown who started out as a DJ and transitioned into music production and then there's Stephanie "Diversea" Whittaker, who has two beat battle championships under belt just goes to show that female producers are alive and well.

After seeing Lady Beatmakers: Vol.1 the masses will see how far female music producers have come and will acknowledge that they are here to stay.

FEMMIXX.COM REPPIN' LADIES IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY...

Brooklyn, New York - Poet/journalist, Tachelle Shamash Wilkes who has written for publications such as the Source, Vibe, One World and B-Gyrl.com has joined forces with DJ Gary B, one of the most sought after music producers with credits extending from closing track No Keys, on BET STARZ, Ghetto Dawgs, to working with rising underground rap group Taj Mahall to launch FEMMIXX.COM.

Not just another male bashing site or women only meeting place - FEMMIXX.COM is on a mission to find gifted women music producers, beat makers and DJs - giving them an outlet to shine in a male dominated industry. FEMMIXX.COM is also bringing some of the hottest historical interviews from both sexes, with the first being one of the very last interviews with the late legendary hip hop pioneer Jam Master Jay. He speaks candidly on his lifes journey in hip hop.

Part I & II of the interview is now available for listeners exclusively on FEMMIXX.COMs interview page. Dedicated to bringing change in the hip hop world and how women are portrayed, Tachelle reveals, I wanted a place for so long to share my love of hip hop media and music with women in the forefront - I wanted to be a part of something fresh and unique - I have finally found that place. DJ Gary B adds, with no real outlets for female DJs, beat makers and producers I am happy to have been a part of creating one.

Along with Jam Masters Jays interview, FEMMIXX.COM is tackling images of women in media & music and finding self love in articles like Blacker the Berry, Boob Wars & Barbie Manipulation. With heart probing journalists like Stacey Tolbert and Tachelle Shamash Wilkes, FEMMIXX articles will keep its audience enlightened. The ingredients are right in the mix. MAD LOVE AND RESPECT TO MY BROTHERS WHO ARE TAKING CARE OF THEIR SEEDS... OUR CHILDREN NEED U...

Diasporic Thoughts:

As children of the Diaspora (African-Americans, Puerto Ricans, Jamaicans, Dominicans, Panamanians, Haitians, Native-American people, etc), we are a talented and spiritual people. We have to come together and deal with the issues that are affecting our communities. We have to turn the negative stereotypes and images that the media portrays inside out and start to create our own destinies.

AND THE PROPHECY READS...

The Law cannot be an end in itself, it leads further. The man cannot have emotional relation or between communion and an abstract truth. The natural laws are clearly there to lead us to the admiration of the Creator and the desire to meet it. Our joys and our sorrows we cannot share them with a book or an animal but with a person who can include/understand us. The law of the sin led to seek forgiveness and to find That which forgives. The Law leads to a person, it leads to Jesus-Christ. In Greek antiquity the pedagogue was the slave charged to bring the child to the school. He did not teach itself, he led to that which teaches: " Thus the law was like a pedagogue to lead us to Christ, so that we are justified by the faith. " After his dream, God will lead further Jacob, in Peniel, there he will see the angel of the Eternal face to face, and he will be saved. Jacob feared to meet his EsaA? brother that it had misled and flown; the law of God was drawn up in his conscience, inflexible, which it had sown it was to now harvest it. There, after an exhausting fight, God will subjugate it by his grace, he suddenly dissipates terrors of the Law and floods it its blessing. God awaits us on what we fear more, not to lose us, but to save us.
