I had another page but it was pointless so I closed it and log in to get my daily fix. So please! No notes trying to hook up or see pics, I wont share pics. if your political  or just like good ole mental stimuli...you can read my blog here. That will be all for now.

Why Are Black Politicians Scared To Call A Duck, A Duck?

Posted

Out of all the politicians there are, I would think that being black…and being in office, you would recognize your power to make real change. Those of us that are passionate but without a main venue to preach from, would love the opportunity to be in the spot light , and our voices heard. If I had access to the cable news channels, I would be on there as much as possible pointing out the inequalities and imperfections with hopes to eventually contribute to that change.

Black politicians we elect you to be our voice, that is your job to represent your constituents. That is the only thing you are supposed to do. Yet when you see someone call our president a liar on the floor…all you want to do is "admonish" him?

Today I was watching Chris Matthews. Matthews was discussing racism and how President Carter called that duck for what it is…a duck. Matthews asked the first Representative of the House "do you think that it was based on race?" Her response was so politically half assed.  What sucks even more is I woudnt even be able to tell you who she is. In other words, she was such an unpopular figure that her fear of offending a constituent was irrelevant. If anything, give yourself a name and pull a Weiner. Yes I am talking about Representative Weiner. Someone I didn’t know too much about until he went from station to station defending the rights of American citizens and their health.

Shortly after that another black Representative of the House, a man, came on and Matthews asked him about a remark Rush Limbaugh made. The remark wreaked of racist funk…when the Representative was asked "do you think that was racist"….he shuffled out of the corner with a "eehhh I dont know, but…" and then changed the subject. Are you kidding me? The only reason I would think a black man in a powerful position wouldn’t call that duck, a duck…would be to accommodate his white voters. Whats funny about that though, is if his white constituents don’t see the racism in Rush Limbaugh, they weren’t going to vote for his black ass anyway. Right?

It’s a crying shame that you have a white ex President…Carter, a conservative black man…Bill Cosby, a conservative leaning democratic pundit…Chris Matthews, a white journalist..Maureen Dowd…and a few other white journalists…that are able to call this duck for what it is, a duck. If regular citizens, black conservative thinkers, and white people…can call a duck a duck, then why in the heck doesn’t our powerful black voices in Congress use their power to call it like it is. Stop being scared and start doing your job!

Black Caucus for what?

Bout as useful as the NAACP

Make's Me Wanna Holla!

So the topic at hand has changed from the health care debate, to the Afghan debate.

Now in this blog I am not going to share my personal opinions on if we should or should not be in Afghanistan.

My personal thoughts on war are this…its ugly and I hate that people die. I feel tremendous guilt when I see lives of civilians lost., I honor our troops for taking on the task of going to fight for this country and feel real sad when their boss has them out there risking their lives for personal reasons. With that being said..I don’t believe in turning the cheek when a group of people or a country, decides to kill our people and bring grief on our country. I don’ have enough info on Afghan to make an assessment on  war there.

This blog will be more aimed at the Republican Party.

When we were in the Bush era we went through so much fear mongering, I felt like there was always a big cloud over this country. I wasn’t so much in fear..just embarrassed at the face of our nation. I felt powerless in making a change.

So we voted them out.

Now we are at a point in time where President Obama is pondering some serious decisions on the war in Afghanistan. A war that he said from the beginning, he was going to pursue. Right now the soldiers in Afghan need help or we need to pull out. This is what he is pondering.

Now it looks like we are seeing Republican fear tactics all over again at the perfect time for fear.

First thing that happened was a leaked memo…the memo stated how important it is for us to bring more troops to Afghan. It stressed the end result in a attack on our country, if we don’t. Something for the Presidents eyes only, but someone that wanted to scare the American people…leaked the memo.

Second, a man from Pakistan was found in Colorado, and he is a suspected terrorist. What’s fishy about this is he said he was innocent, then with FBI interrogation he admitted to going through an Al Qaeda training camp. Then a day later, through his attny, he said he had not and proclaimed his innocence. Everything is merky  and we really don’t know if this man has reason to be investigated. They say what triggered his investigation was a car trip he took from Colorado to New York? Now I am not saying this man is or isn’t innocent. All I am saying is that his actions could be innocent and they could be guilty. A 50/50 chance of either. Maybe more info needs to be provided to the people instead of "terror" and "fear."

Third, Condoleezza Rice has issued a public statement that if we leave Afghan we should expect to be attacked.  Now while this is her strong and experienced opinion, the fact that she is making this a public statement is what pisses me off. When President Obama was first elected, there were numerous stories of Obama and Rice having conversations over the phone. Obama was even interviewed and told the press that he had had numerous conversations with Rice. What’s that mean? Well it means Rice has Obama’s phone number and that Obama has her number. Meaning that if she seriously wanted to give her honest advice, in efforts to influence his decision, she would have called him directly. Instead she told him through the media in efforts to incite fear! Another thing, how come she wasn’t screaming all this when Bush was insisting that Iraq was the best war of choice?

Fear mongering all over again…let’s not get dupped this time please.

Civil RIGHTS and Civil LIBERTIES, Lets Be Clear

Posted

Not too long ago, Professor Henry Gates was racially profiled by the Cambridge Police. I wont get too much into that story because I have plenty about it in previous writings. Well, following the arrest, an officer named Justin Barrett who worked for the Cambridge Police but was not a part of that incident, sent a mass email to his peers calling Gates a "banana eating jungle monkey." The email was clearly in a racist tone so he was suspended. Barrett followed up on the email explaining that it wasn’t about racism or race, that instead it was in reference to how Gates was acting.

O.o *scratching head*

Anywho, now Barrett is suing the Cambridge police department for violating his civil rights when they suspended him.

Now any normal person would be confused at this. How can this man act racistly and then turn around and say his civil rights were violated? But...
