America I AM Live!

Tavis Smiley will host "America I AM Live!," the first sneak Preview of the upcoming America I AM: The African American Imprint museum exhibition. This nationwide virtual preview will be the first glimpse into the galleries of the traveling museum exhibition that will open in November celebrating 400 years of African American contributions to the nation through artifacts, documents, multimedia, photos and music. The free Webcast will be live at www.AmericaIAM.org from 8:15-8:30 a.m. EST on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, with Tavis Smiley moderating simultaneously on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. Developed in partnership with The Smiley Group, Inc., and organized by Arts and Exhibitions.

Been trying to get you and Jeff Johnson out here to Louisiana for 5 years, and it still hasn't happened.
Youth here are in a crisis and we need a Voice.
Let's get it together to weather the storms that's coming.
Obama making history opens the flood gates. It's gonna take a strong unified front from people like you in positions like yours to prepare our youth and young adults for the 'Change in 2008".
It's like dropping a billion dollar lottery ticket in an 18 Yr. Olds Lap and telling him to enjoy the CHANGE. We need to prepare our people FOR THE CHANGE. EQUIP OUR PEOPLE with REAL logistical and penetrative knowledge for the change, so that we won't allow the opportunity to revolve around us instead of evolving within us.
Because even if Obama/ when Obama wins- it still won't make us colored folk royalty- but placed on a platform.

Heard your commentary on the TJM show and it is a d*mn shame that the so called president of our country would veto a bill that would insure millions of CHILDREN in this country. Only a cold hearted, self righteous, egotistical, son of a bush would even consider doing something like that. I'll take Kanye West's comment even further "George Bush don't care about poor people period ". Regardless of the color of your skin, he doesn't show any care or compassion for the less fortunate in this country. And in light of the recent book by Scott McClelland where he admits to the lies and deception the Bush administration, this is typical of a regime that constantly sends billions of dollars every week to fight a senseless war but doesn't have the compassion to take care of our own children with basic necessities such as health care, education, or even food. Thank God it's his last year, good riddance to Bush/Cheney/Rice. I hope justice is served and they get their day in court. They are war criminals that have basically stepped on our constitution, deceived and neglected the American people and some day will be held accountable for their evil actions. Vote Obama '08
