The CDC states, "If new HIV/AIDS infections continue at their current rate, women with HIV may soon outnumber men." As the nation moves forward with the implementation of the first ever, recently released, National AIDS Strategy, it fails to specifically address the gender specific needs of women, the growing population of women with HIV/AIDS, especially women of color, nor is there any plan for increasing access to resources in areas where HIV/AIDS is most prevalent, and completely excludes the unique cultural needs of women and men from different racial backgrounds.
