Conditioning for Excellence has been the theme of Tim's life since childhood. Reaching beyond the norm and preparing to dwell amongst the best in whatever objectives he chose has guided his path to success. As a three-sport (football, basketball, and track) athlete and honors student at Peach County High School in Fort Valley, GA, Tim excelled on the field of play and in the classroom. Upon graduating in 1988, he received a number of college scholarship offers for football. He chose Howard University over more notable football programs. At Howard, Tim continued a prosperous scholastic and football career. He has the distinction of being the first Athlete in the history of Howard University to be named to the GTE Academic All-America Team. Tim was also named All-Conference, All-American, and Defensive Player of the Year in each of his final two college seasons. Scholastically, he was chosen by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences to participate in the National Name Exchange for outstanding academic achievement by juniors and seniors and was selected a lifetime member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Tim completed his undergraduate studies earning a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Business Marketing. He also completed Post-Graduate studies in Athletic Administration. Most recently Tim was honored with induction into the Howard University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005.
