In the new novel A Dream Before Dying/The Initiation by author/minister Tony Scott Macauley the reader will find meaning to many unanswered questions.

  • Where do we go when we die?
  • Is there a difference between saved and born again?
  • What lessons should we learn from raising Lazarus from the dead?
  • What did Jesus mean when he said... and more.

In search of Vanessa, his first love, Vincent J. Christopher graduates from college and reports for duty in Vietnam as a young U.S. Army chaplain. Trained to fulfill his first commission, providing spiritual guidance and comfort to the soldiers in First Squad, he’s unknowingly chosen for initiation into the realm of Immortal Keepers.

If successful, he will receive a second commission, gathering God’s elect and preparing them for the upcoming end time battle. The day before his twenty-first birthday, he dreams of time traveling between 1967 Vietnam and 33 A.D. Jerusalem, reliving the agonizing deaths of his squad members, as well as witnessing the three-year ministry of Christ. When Vincent realizes he may be trapped in ancient Jerusalem and forced to visually endure the horrific torture of Christ’s crucifixion, he struggles against his fate.

Throughout his tour of duty, Vince teaches his squad members about the second coming of Christ, each example triggering a dream that hurls them from the battlefield to the first ministry of Christ.

A Dream Before Dying entertains while it instructs, combining the fantasy of The Wizard of Oz, the conflict of Platoon, and the emotion of The Passion of Christ.

What is the 'Third Heaven', spoken of by the apostle Paul?

What is the ‘Third Heaven’?

There have been many interpretations about the ‘Third Heaven’, which was spoken of by Paul. Some think of it as place of fiction. Others believe it is a celestial realm that exists today, and is accessible to anyone who can close their eyes tight enough to see a bright light in their forehead.

Let’s see what Paul says about it.

2 Cor 12:1, “It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions... (continue reading)

When was the beginning?

The Question:

When did God create mankind?

When did God create the earth?

Science and archeology has proven that earth is millions of years old. The proof is in the cars we drive. Fossil fuel comes from the remnants of an earth age long gone. So what happened in the beginning?

The Verses: Gen, 1: 1-2, Jer, 4:23 Isa, 45:18.

Gen 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

We don’t... (continue reading)

Where do the dead go?

Where are the dead?

Where do we go when we die?

What about non-believers and non-Christians?

I recently heard a heart filled question asked by a mother about her child. She asked her Pastor a question about her child. Her infant daughter had recently died but had not been baptized. She wanted to know if her baby went to heaven. The Pastor’s answer was, “Um, since your daughter was not baptized, it’s likely that she isn’t in heaven.”

Is there a difference between, 'Born Again' and Salvation? Yes!

The question:

Is there a difference between, 'Born Again' and Salvation?

Christians have, for a long time, assumed that salvation and 'born again' mean the same thing. We've used the terms together so much that they have become synonymous. So, what is the difference?

Lets start with John 3:16, our favorite verse from the NT then work backwards to John 3:3-

Verses:

John 3:16, "For... (continue reading)

Why did God flood the earth?

The 'Flood of Noah'. Why did God flood the earth? Disobedience? Sin? What was so terrible that He repented for making man flesh? What are we to learn from this example?

Verses:Gen 6:1-9

6:1, "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,"

The men in this verse refers to the men of genealogy of Adam. This lineage, of course, is God's primary concern. The daughters here are specifically, the... (continue reading)

Why did John the Baptist ask Christ if He was the one?

John The Baptist Question of Christ:

Did John doubt the existence of the true Christ? Did John doubt God's word to him? What is John really asking? How to tell the future from Christ's lesson.

The Question:

In The book of Luke, chapter 7:19-20, why did John, (now in prison) send his disciples to ask Jesus if he is the one or is there another? It's mentioned twice in the verses so it's... (continue reading)
