I am really a Texas Minister and the founder of LightWay Ministries LightWay Ministries was designed to give Biblical insight into some of Christianity's more difficult issues. In the past couple of years, that ministry has expanded into a place where not only those issues are discussed but has included theology, sermons, and Christian stories. In June 2006 we included an online bible institute that offers courses to Christians around the world. Our ultimate goal is to bring souls to Christ and to unite the church for that purpose. If this ministry brings even one soul to Christ or strengthens the faith of one believer, we believe that all our work has paid off. We believe that Jesus is the only way to God and are concerned by the fact that so many see nothing wrong in other religions today. John 14:6 says, "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" For this reason, we hold that Christianity and faith in Christ is the only way to heaven and despite our goal of unity, we will not compromise on this issue. We strive to see the Holy Spirit alive and active in every place where Christians gather. We want to see a fire spread throughout the church of Jesus Christ; a revival and commitment like none ever seen to take place across the world. We believe that the time may be short and our Lord may return at any time. For this reason, we want to be found ready for His return. The founder of LightWay has been at work within the church for a number of years already. He is a licensed and ordained minister and is currently working towards a Masters in Ministry Degree in Biblical Teaching and Preaching. Other contributors to this ministry are involved in ministries of their own across the United States and include various denominations. We do not agree on all issues but firmly hold to the fact that Jesus is Lord and is the only way to heaven. Because there have been some who have asked, the founder is the author of many of the articles on this website. He is a member of a local Baptist Church, and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University, and a Biblical Teaching Certificate from the College of Biblical Studies. Although none of the views expressed on this website are contradictory to the views held by the church or the school, they should not be assumed to be representative of either organization. This ministry currently exists only online and has minimal ministry budget or materials. .

As a minister, I'm finding one thing irks me above all other problems that I find in the church today. That problem is a lack of biblical knowledge. This problem is not just found among the ranks of young Gen X'ers who are undisciplined and are more into feelings rather than truth. This problem plagues godly saints who have been in the pews for forty and fifty years as well.
To illustrate my point, take a look at how many denominations there are, all under the umbrella... (continue reading)

God wants you to know for sure that you have eternal life. Eternal life is not based on your feelings but on facts found in the Bible.

Your Assurance is based on the word of God. The Bible states in John 3:16 and in 1 John 5:11-13 that God wants you to know that you have eternal life. Read these versus and underline them in your Bible.

Your Assurance is based on the Promise of God. What are the promises found in the following two versus?

Because if you confess with... (continue reading)

Ministry

Ministry "Ministry" is from the Greek word diakoneo, meaning "to serve", or douleuo, meaning "to serve as a slave." In the New Testament, ministry is seen as service to God and to other people in His name. Jesus provided the pattern for Christian ministry: He came, not to receive service, but to give it (See Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45; John 13:1-17). The Christian should minister by meeting people's needs with love and humility, on Christ's behalf. (See Matthew... (continue reading)

What are some misconceptions over the meaning of faith?
I have met many Christians who are disappointed with God. They feel as if God has let them down, as if He didn't answer their requests as they had desired. It is not unusual for people in this situation to stop reading their Bibles, stop attending church, and stop praying. In some cases their disappointment turns to anger and even bitterness.

WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE CHURCH

WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE CHURCH

Based on my experience as an African-American minister, teacher, and speaker at various Black churches, it is my opinion that the Black church in America today does not have a strong commitment to Christian orthodoxy in doctrine and practice. Let's share seven reasons why this is the case.

The leading reason for a lack of Christian orthodoxy in the Black church is that its pastors lack a... (continue reading)

Three things about you mind body spirit criss angel 1. Your body....is how you "know" the world...through your five senses. 2. Your soul...is how you know yourself...and others. 3. Your spirit...is how you "know" God. Your physical body shows the beauty of what God made. (Genesis, 1:25 26 Genesis, 2: 25) Sin makes you feel as if you re no good. (Genesis, 3: 8) The soul and the spirit are similar when they are used in the spiritual life of a Christian. The differents is that the souls in man and woman have a horizontal view with the world. The soul refers to man and woman and there walk in the world, both material and immaterial. The Soul is a part of a person that is eternal and a Spirit is the invisible part of the nonmaterial human being. Man alone was created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26 27) this distinguishes man and woman from all of creation, and what are the ramifications of this distinction? The key is found in (Genesis 1:26 28 Genesis 2:18 25) It is that only man and woman are created in the image of God. The spirits of man and woman have a vertical view with God. They both refer to the immaterial part of man and woman but the spirit refers to man and woman, and there walk with God. In (Psalm 78:50) a soul is seen as life. In (Hebrew nephesh) is used to show the physical life of humans. The word soul means only physical life. So when the word soul is used nephesh is the Hebrew word that means breath, as in (Genesis 1:20) we should praise God because we are made in his image and his likeness. This means that all human beings are like God, capable of spirituality with a mind and emotions that continues after death if we stay true to his word. (John, 3: 15 21) Be Blessed in the name of the father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Three powerful things. Rev, Gregory Applewhite Ph. D.
