From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search A vagabond is an itinerant person. Such people may be called drifters, tramps, rogues, or hobos. A vagabond is characterised by almost continuous travelling, lacking a fixed home, temporary abode, or permanent residence. Vagabonds are not bums, as bums are not known for travelling, preferring to stay in one location. Historically, "vagabond" was a British legal term similar to vagrant, deriving from the Latin for 'purposeless wandering'.[1] Following the Peasants' Revolt, British constables were authorised under a 1383 statute to collar vagabonds and force them to show their means of support; if they could not, the penalty was gaol.[1] Under a 1495 statute, vagabonds could be sentenced to the stocks for three days and nights; in 1530, whipping was added. The assumption was that vagabonds were unlicensed beggars.[1] ima regular person but kinda do im independent 1: moving from place to place without a fixed home : wandering 2 a: of, relating to, or characteristic of a wanderer b: leading an unsettled, irresponsible, or disreputable life

Shikan-ken (Extended-Knuckle Fist) The shikan-ken is the fundamental fist of the Togakure-ryu. It is used against hard, broad surfaces of bone structure. The fist is formed with the fingers half-folded, leaving the middle knuckles protruding. The striking points are the knuckles, which may be applied to the facial bones, breast-bone, and sides of the middle ribs. The punch goes straight in, bullet-like, with all the force behind the striking points. The elbow should not rise along the outside of the fist's path, or the punch will bend and hook. The elbow is kept close to the ribs, forcing the punch straight into the target. The teacher warned that the fist is not flipped into place and withdrawn, but used to knock the adversary back. The thrust of the punch continues through the impact with the target. Fudo-ken (Clenched Fist) This is the conventional clenched fist, which can be used to strike from many different angles. It is used against a variety of targets, but is especially effective against areas of the body in which the edges of the bone structure are accessible. This fist is formed by curling the fingers into the palm and clamping the thumb beside the index finger. The front slab of the fist, the outside knuckles, or the inside knuckles can be used to strike targets such as the nose, jaw, lower edges of the ribs, arms, and legs. Boshi-ken (Thumb-Drive Fist) The boshi-ken is unique to the ninja's system of combat. This fist's single striking point is used against semisoft targets, generally muscles covering bone structure. It is especially well suited for attacking nerve centers with precision. The fist is formed with the thumb protruding, and the hand in a position resembling that used to grip a golf club. The thumb is positioned for a driving jab, reinforced by the curled index finger. This single striking point is used to attack targets such as the side of the neck, the sides of the upper ribs, the solar plexus, and the lower abdomen to the inside of the hip bones. As with most of the punches in ninjutsu, it is essential to follow powerfully through the target, and not merely poke and retreat. Shuto (Sword Hand) The sword hand is not really a fist, but it is an important striking weapon. The lower outside edge of the palm is used against the structures of the limbs and neck, as well as for striking into the joints. In the shuto, the planes of the palm and fingers form an angle of 45 degrees, and the thumb is clamped along he base of the index finger. When beginning the sword-hand strike, maintain the hand in a conventional fist to disguise your intention. The hand swings around into the target, drawing power from the weight and motion of the arm and body. At the instant before contact, the hand is opened to shuto position and smashed through the target at a 90-degree angle to its surface. The hand is not flicked into place and quickly withdrawn. The strike is intended to stun or to break through the bone structure attacked. Info from Stephen Hayes "The Ninja and their secret fighting art"

InstructionsDifficulty: Challenging Step1Develop a wide range of unorthodox hand to hand and weapons fighting skills so you can call into action any one of your fighting tools as you need to. Studying the traditional ninja hand to hand fighting system, tai jitsu, gives you not only a punching and kicking ability but detailed martial arts knowledge of the human body and its weaknesses. Step2Understand the situation you're going into before you enter it so that you know how you can win and, if necessary, how to escape. If you know you're going into a situation then plan carefully with as much information as possible. If, however, the situation is spontaneous, then look around you so you know what environment you're in so you can make use of it as necessary. Step3Make everything into a weapon, beginning with the weapons of the human body. Put particular importance on the blade-like bones of your forearms and shins to practice the ninja martial arts style known as shikan-ken. Also learn how using bear-claw and tiger-claw fists give you a few extra, crucial millimeters to attack your opponent in vulnerable stops like the throat and eyes. Step4Practice the ninja way of life, known as ninpo, so your ninja fighting take on a holistic aspect and is not just about incidents of violence. Pay specific attention to ninpo's teaching of martial arts discipline, restraint, healthy living and constant awareness, in addition to hand to hand combat teachings, in order to fight like a true ninja. Ninjas are some of the best known and most revered martial artists in the history of the world. Their ability to attack with pinpoint precision, use hand to hand fighting techniques and, just as importantly, complete missions without being detected makes knowing how to fight ninja style an important tool.

Dim Mak Death Touch - Celebrity bloopers here

Investigating the Dim Mak Death Touch 173 Comments The old Kung Fu master touched his assailant, with no apparent effect. Days later, the assailant died a sudden and mysterious death. He was a victim of the legendary dim mak, the touch of death. dim mak Dim mak is a popular discussion topic among martial arts enthusiasts. Some instructors claim to have the skill, or believe that it was used to kill Bruce Lee. Others insist that dim mak instructors are frauds and the skill itself is a complete fantasy. Is there any evidence to support the existence of dim mak? Could it possibly work? Dim Mak Does Not Equal Death Touch The Cantonese term dim mak does not translate to "death touch". I have heard that a less dramatic, but more accurate translation would be "press artery". With that clarification, it should be obvious that the skill of dim mak does exist; anyone can press an artery, right? For more useful answers, we should ask more specific questions . Can dim mak be performed on a skilled, resisting opponent? There are pressure points on the body, which can be manipulated to cause immediate and excruciating pain. And there are vital areas, which can be damaged with a relatively small amount of force. Martial artists protect these points and areas. But all this has little to do with dim mak. By definition, dim mak operates on arteries, which are continuous and span the entire body. Yes, some pressure points happen to be located along these arteries. No, this does not make dim mak synonymous with pressure point striking or grappling. According to TCM theory and practice as manifest in acupuncture, the body is covered with these arteries, also known as meridians. If you are touching an opponent's arm or leg, you are probably touching a meridian. In other words, if your opponent can touch you, they can probably perform dim mak. Can dim mak injure an opponent? Simply touching an opponent's meridian is unlikely to hurt them, much less kill them. Dim mak cannot be haphazard pressing and grabbing, any more than acupuncture is random poking about with a needle. The connections between acupuncture/acupressure points and organ function are supported by thousands of years of practical experience, and by experiments with modern biomedical technology. If acupressure can be used to cure sickness, it can obviously be used to cause sickness. Can dim mak cause a delayed death? If dim mak can influence organ function, then it absolutely can cause a delayed death, in a matter of days, weeks or months. Consider these two concrete examples: Symptoms of liver failure include yellow skin, itching, and swelling. Without treatment, liver failure is fatal. Symptoms of kidney failure include shallow breathing, lethargy, and an inability to urinate. Without treatment, kidney failure is fatal.
