Vanishing Point:

The distant point at which receding parallel lines appear to converge, but reaching this point is not possible.

In my opinion, ultimate success is very much similar to the Vanishing Point.

Be determined to live life as a constant challenge and adventure. Never become complacent or content.

***Now About Me***

I am a single BMW (Black Male Working) originally from Wichita, Kansas. I am 5`11", 225 lbs. I don't smoke, drink, do drugs, nor am I into the "club scene". I am financially and emotionally secure, easy to get along with, and I am very optimistic & positive about the future so it goes without saying that I know what I want out of life and exactly the effort it will take on my part to get it.

By choice, I have never been married and I do not have any children. I am not necessarily looking for a love connection on the Planet, but I am open to the idea of meeting positive, intelligent, and drama free ladies from around the country and if I should happen to meet my soul mate, that will be a very pleasant incentive. So please leave me a note and sign my Guest Book before you leave and I will return the favor.

***Something To Think About***

Generations come and go but it makes no difference.

The sun rises and sets and hurries around to rise again.

The wind blows south and north, here and there, twisting back and forth, getting nowhere.

The rivers run into the sea but the sea is never full, and the water returns again to the rivers, and flows again to the sea...

Everything is so weary and tiresome.

No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied; no matter how much we hear we are not content.

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

So I saw that there is nothing better for men than that they should be happy in their work, for that is what they are here for, and no one can bring them back to life to enjoy what will be in the future, so let them enjoy it now.

-Ecclesiastes-

*** 10 principles to live by***

1. You shall not worry, for worry is the most unproductive of all human activities.

2. You shall not be fearful, for most of the things we fear never come to pass.

3. You shall not carry grudges, for they are the heaviest of all life's burdens.

4. You shall face each problem as it comes. You can only handle one at a time anyway.

5. You shall not take problems to bed with you, for they make very poor bedfellows.

6. You shall not borrow other people's problems. They can better care for them than you.

7. You shall not try to relive yesterday for good or ill, it is forever gone. Concentrate on what is happening in your life and be happy now!

8. You shall be a good listener, for only when you listen do you hear ideas different from your own.

9. You shall not become "bogged down" by frustration, for 90% of it is rooted in self-pity and will only interfere with positive action.

10. You shall count your blessings, never overlooking the small ones, for a lot of small blessings add up to a big one.

-Author Unknown-

***Symptoms of inner peace***

Watch for signs of Peace. The hearts of a great many have already been exposed to it, and it seems likely that we could find our society experiencing it in epidemic proportions.

Some signs of inner peace:

1. An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.

2. Loss of interest in judging other people.

3. Loss of interest of judging self.

4. Loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.

5. Loss of interest of conflict.

6. Loss of ability to worry (A very serious symptom).

7. Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.

8. Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.

9. Frequent attacks of smiling through the eyes from the heart.

10. Increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen.

*** A Few Words Of Encouragement***

"Come to the edge."

"We can t. We will fall."

"Come to the edge."

"We can t. We are afraid!"

"COME TO THE EDGE!!!"

And they came.

And he pushed them.

And they flew.

-Appolinare-

Only those who risk going too far will ever know how far they can go.

Don t believe everything you THINK!!!

We all have two lives. One we re given and the other we make.

Unjust criticism is usually a disguised compliment. It often means you have aroused jealousy and envy. Remember that no one ever kicks a dead dog.

The difficulties and struggles of today are but the price we must pay for the accomplishments and victories of tomorrow.

Ultimately, the things that most affect the quality of your life are your decisions. The cards you're dealt do not matter nearly so much as how you decide to play them.

Continuity gives us roots; change gives us branches, letting us stretch and grow and reach new heights.

The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.

Whatever you think you can do, or believe you can do,

BEGIN IT.

Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now.

-Goethe-

There is no such thing as can't, only won't. All it takes is a burning desire to accomplish, to make a change.

Go forward. Go backward. Whatever it takes! But you can't blame other people or society in general.

It all comes from your mind. When we do the impossible, we realize we are special people.

-Jan Ashford-

The game of life is a lot like football. You have to tackle your problems, block your fears, and score points when you get the opportunity

-Lewis Grizzard-

Those who are not looking for happiness are the most likely to find it, because those who are searching forget that the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness in others.

- Martin Luther King, Jr.-

A final thought...

I know that I'm going to a special place when I die, but I want to make sure my life is special while I'm here.

-Payne Stewart, the late PGA golfer-

***August 23, 2003***

This remarkable piece was written by

Eddie J. Thomas, a teacher with Wichita, Kansas public school system.

Neutralize the negative black subculture.

Americans who identify themselves as racially black or as members of the African-American ethnic group make up roughly 10 to 12 percent of the nation`s population. It is obvious that the number of blacks in the National Basketball Association well exceeds 10 to 12 percent of that group.

Most fair-minded Americans probably don`t have a problem with that disproportionate representation. The time-on-task skill development of these athletes justifies their dominance of the NBA.

It is also obvious that blacks are disproportionately represented in the nation`s prisons. The majority of these unfortunate individuals have exhibited social behaviors that justify their imprisonment. Most of these have committed crimes against other black people. It can be fairly stated that very few of these criminals were arrested for stealing food to feed themselves or their families.

Most educated Americans know that there is nothing genetic predetermining that any race of people will excel in basketball or physics, or disproportionately commit crimes. If we use computer terminology, we might say this is a software problem, not a hardware problem.

The software problem is that there is a subculture within the general culture of black Americans that operates like a virus in computer software.

This subculture perpetuates a set of negative values that seeks to corrupt black American culture in general. The premise of these negative values is that black, by definition, means a predisposition to behave in ways that run counter to middle-class social values.

Instead of respect for the law, these negative values promote a notion that it is hip to engage in many forms of criminal behavior. Instead of arriving at the schoolhouse door with a sense of urgency for the need to become educated, these negative values would have students show up with no sense of the self-discipline needed to focus on what is being taught.

There is a need to thoroughly analyze this subculture and develop specific plans within the social institutions of family, church, school, entertainment, and so on, to neutralize it.

Here`s another good one by Stanley Crouch, a columnist for the New York Daily News.

$LUT CHIC IS LATEST LOW.

In the ongoing degradation of American culture by popular entertainment, two of the groups that are most important to purifying our sense of morality and justice -- black Americans and American women -- have been sold a terrible bill of goods. They have come to believe, far too often, that self-degradation is the purest form of liberty.

This was proved at the recent MTV Video Music Awards show and in the $lut-chic fashions and groupie ethos that have overwhelmed young American females.

As for black Americans, the minstrel update of the moment is 50 Cent, whose material celebrates pimping and whose claim to "authenticity" largely is based in street knowledge that culminated in his having been shot nine times.

On the female side, we see young women who have been misled by Madonna`s persona as a free-lance w*hore taking up their own version of the minstrel show.

Rather than celebrating hateful ethnic stereotypes, as black gangster rappers do, far too many female pop stars seem to be taking their direction from porn stars.

So we have the grandest of ironies, which is that black Americans and American women -- two groups that were essential in bringing this nation much closer to the ideals of its social contract -- have left the campaign against ethnic and sexual images and become satisfied with the narrow dimensions of thug and $lut stereotypes.

All this has arrived in a very circuitous way. As a nation, we have long fought against privilege based on class, color, sex or religion, and we have achieved very high marks along the way. But the black thug evolved into a hero because he went against what were dismissed as white middle-class values. And the prostitute was projected as the liberated woman because she was willing to strut her stuff against all conventions.

The challenge that lies before us is not to go back to the worst repressions and racism of the 1950s, but to discover a vital way to help our young reject minstrelsy, whether it arrives from the world of racism or the world of pornography.
