Before I can talk about my own dogs I thought it would be appropriate to let people know where my dogs come from first. One of the coolest things about Afghan Hounds is that they are one of the oldest breeds known to man. Some books report that Afghans were on Noah's Ark and that there are ancient drawings of Afghans with Moses at Mt. Sinai. Others state that Afghans come from China and Egypt because of similar documentation in ancient text and drawings. It's a bit humbling if you ask... (continue reading) personal info

Hello BP! I have finally found the time to make my personal BP
space. Some friends of mine tell me this is a great place to network with others that have your same interests. As a young boy I always wanted to breed and show dogs. I was fascinated with the different breeds and everything that went into breeding AKC champions. I remember living in the projects in Brooklyn and going to a neighborhood library that had extensive books on breeding and showing AKC champions. I can't remember the name of the library but that is where my dream started. I used to get lost in all of the books about showing dogs. I'm currently showing a puppy out of my first litter. Her name should have been Ms. Prance-A-Lot because she prances all around my house and poses constantly, LOL. Her name is Naomi aka Xzotika's Walkin' On Water and she hasn't lost at a show yet (knock on wood). She is a beautiful yearling exhibiting damn near perfect conformation and temperament. In the world of dog showing and breeding you don't find many african americans at the top of the game. However, I aim to make it and become recognized as a top AKC breeder and handler. Competing at this level of competition is very expensive so Oprah if you happen to read this my wish would be to be able to afford to campaign my dogs all around the country. One of the reasons why I joined BlackPlanet is to attract interested parties that would be willing to sponsor a show dog. I know these sponsorships go on all the time with the larger (more wealthy) show kennels who have relationships with AKC judges etc.. However, I'm not in that league and have to be a little more creative infinding sponsors for my dogs. I have very nice dogs and it would be awesome if they could get the same kind of exposure that many kennels with sponsors receive. Thanks alot for indulging me! I look forward to hearing from other members. Remember, nothing great is ever achieved without ENTHUSIASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jarnell@xzotika interests
