personal message

Change, Change, Change, we have to do it at some points in Life. Have finally given up the military life and become a class "A" retired civilian :) It's been about 5 months so far and I have been enjoying waking up when I desire and going to bed when I desire, but still getting paid pretty well. For those good folks who have been to my page over the last 8.5 years you know I discuss my travels throughout the US and other countries. Well one bad part of retirement is my traveling will slow down. But it will not stop completely (will discuss more later in the page).

 WHAT ELSE HAS CHANGED?

Have left my hometown of Detroit, Michigan and moved to a small city in Georgia. Of course there are somethings about Detroit that I will miss (especially family), but that cold weather and the several negative issues with regard to the housing market, unemployment, crime and negativity of political figures won't be missed at all. Being in Georgia gives me an opportunity to bond more with family here, South Carolina and Alabama. Hopefully, I'll reengage with old friends and make new quality friends along the way. As stated in my previous message seeing family on the most part is great thing. But depending on, some family members you can at times go without dealing with (too much drama). But one thing holds true, people change over the years! Circumstances, environments, choices, drive, upbringing, along with many other factors can (and will) impact your historical circle of people in positive and negative ways. Then there are those that stay on the path. Their lives are so predictable from moment to moment, day to day, week to week, month to month, etc… BP what do you think about that? Is that you??

Still working on my Masters Degree and hope to have it complete by the beginning of 2010. Just completed an accounting class that I could have used everyones help on. So glad its behind me. After the MBA I have decided to go back and get a second Bachelors degree, especially since it will be paid for completely.

As mentioned above my travel will be reduced since I've retired. But I have already made two quality trips since then. Had the pleasure of visiting the Baltimore, Maryland area. Great riverfront area and quality food. One place that stands out is G&M's Restaurant. Quality crab cakes and seafood. Will definitely return. Also traveled to Southern California for a couple of weeks, primarily the San Diego, California area. Had a great time visiting close friends and relaxing. Most days I enjoyed the relaxation of the jacuzzi. The weather of course was beautiful. My next trip will be back up to Detroit for a weelk or so.

As always looking for quality conversations! If you have a desire to converse, drop me a note; email or sign my guestbook and I`ll get back with you. Enjoy the music! Until words meet!

Peace,

AD
