I've written this blog on facebook and Myspace a year ago and finally decided to place it on BP. All thoughts and opinions are welcome.



Sometimes in friendships/acquaintances, we are placed in situations that make us uncomfortable and we try to confront them, whether it was something the person said or did. In some of those situations, we might feel that that particular moment is a failure for communication, and we walk away from that moment without notice to solve the problem with unintentional harm. By doing so, scars and wounds are often created (and I'm speaking in terms of feelings); however, when and if we feel the time is right, we'll return to confront that old situation and heal any wounds that were made.

I've written this note out of personal experience, and because of something I've witnessed between friends with whom I'll respectfully not identify. I will say this, though - if there's anyone in your life you truly consider dear to you (friend, loved one or acquaintance), but you've parted over something so irrelevant, I ask that you get back in contact with them; discuss your issues, let them know how and if they are significant, and just say "I'm sorry." Along with that, do not take that friendship/acquaintance for granted; as fast as we may invite people into our lives, they can be taken away just as fast, or even faster. For those who have read this message, I thank you kindly and hope can benefit you and/or anyone around you.

A man once said, "CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?!"

There was a time when dating and having relationships outside your race was a crime. Nowadays, it's damn near common to see interracial couples just about everywhere you go. To me, it's actually a beautiful thing to find love and to look beyond the color of someone's skin, but sometimes you still can't help but to wonder why the couple's together. Here are my positive and negative reasons for it: Positive - being that we are FREE people, we are able to love whoever and however we please, regardless of gender or race. Negative - your particular race/ethnicity just doesn't interest you, and/or you have lost faith in your own people. I know it's a cut-&-dry post, but I would like to get your thoughts and feelings on the interracial (or the not-so-much same race) dating today. Be sure to include your dating preference and reasons for it as well.
