I Was Born In A Small Town Near Jackson MS. Called Vicksburg,it's The First City as you come Off the Miss Bridge (East) It's Also Famous as one of the Great Battles of the Civil War. Forsaken O, Lord hear I stand in the swaddling mind that I own In a land that knows me not. Who sees though knows not, hears though perceives not, who says I am though knows not who they are. In this I stand as all men and I have known no difference from them. Though by accepting that I am lost I have found that my indignation has Forsaken me and not thee though by my own doing I have parted ways with thee. Forgive me for my folly has moved me away from truth, Form hope, love, and all that is just to the heart of men. The one Word that is and by your will, will always be. For some can say I have not looked upon any idols and said to themselves this is he who will save me. Forgive me. Some men can say I have always known the way though I can?t for I have lost sight of myself in thee. Forgive me. I thought in my ignorance that I could find a path to thee, though I know my arrogance has known no bounds; please in your loving kindness Forgive me, this unknown child descendent of slaves. I look to see the way? I go, as I come, to and fro, to find a way and all I see is that thinking that has lost me to this world. So I look to cast off the ways of this world and with it, all of that, that has been my past, though this has been all I have known so I am more so lost in a world I will not have and it will not have me. So as I stand in this swaddling mind that I own as my life slowly peels away into the hands of the gatekeeper, I so long not to be counted in the end as the lost, who have no home or place in thee. Forgive this lost descendent of slaves in his swaddling state of being for thinking I know.
