I saw you last night
I wonder who you are
I know it's not right
Loving you from afar

I'm not sure what to do
I don't know what to say
I only know that I want you
I must find a way

My lips long to kiss you
My arms need you to hold
I know what I must do
But dare I be so bold

I have loved you forever
Or that's how it seems
But we are only together
At night in my dreams

I can't fight this feeling
It burns like a flame
My passion is reeling
As I call out your name

When the dark becomes light
I know you'll be gone
But when my dreams take flight
Our love will go on

As I've matured...

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.

I've learned that one good turn gets most of the blankets!

I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just jackasses!

I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.

I've learned that whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.

I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.

I've learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.

I've learned that it is not what you wear; it is how you take it off.

I've learned to not sweat the petty things, and not pet the sweaty things.

I've learned that ex's are like fungus, and keep coming back.

I've learned age is a very high price to pay for maturity.

I've learned that I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.

I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.

I've learned that artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

I've learned that 99% of the time when something isn't working in your house, one of your kids did it.

I've learned that there is a fine line between genius and insanity.

I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away. And the real pains in the azz are permanent.

 A Perfect Ending

At the close of our day,
I linger in your eyes,
Lost in the moment,
Cherishing your touch.

Kissing, your tongue tangling with mine,
teasing me, exciting me, making me ache,
wanting to take you right then.

You lay back, pleading without words,
Breathless with anticipation,
As I stand over you, taunting,
Making you wait, admiring what I've done.

Anxious, you raise your hips to greet my stare,
beckoning me to enter you,
As if the lips hidden there
could speak for you, to some other part of me.

Finally, I grant you relief,
embedding your being,
your feet upon my chest to brace us both,
as I thrust deep inside, again and again.

I reach places within you,
you thought were untouchable,
the pain hurting so good,
that you can't help but cry out.

I wonder, if possibly I am hurting you,
Easing momentarily, but then you say, "don't stop",
And I know your whimpers are from ecstasy,
As you call me back into our entrancing dance.

Your eyes are open to catch me,
As I am stealing satisfaction with my own,
Taking pride in knowing it is me,
That has caused these looks to come across your face,
Demonstrating to me, my power over you.

And then I say, "Oh Lady,"
As I gaze at you dreamily,
Shaking my head, as in disbelief,
Shyly grinning, revealing to you, your own power
To make me feel alive.

You know I am close to leaving me,
Traveling to that place you cannot follow,
And you ask me not to go,
Trying with all your might to make me stay,
Requesting, "easy, wait," as you push me to my back,
Climbing atop me.
 
Then ever so carefully, you navigate me once again,
to the edge of your own heaven,
as I find that perfect rhythm of my own,
barely breathing.

And as you start to throb, you become the one
who cannot be stopped from taking flight,
as you ride me wildly, beyond the realms of night,
into your own promised land.

And returning to earth,
you find to your delight,
I, also coming back to ground,
from a visit to a paradise,
that we both, together, found!
