When someone is in your life for a REASON. . . It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered. And now it is time to move on. When people come into your life for a SEASON. Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season. LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
AN INVITE It doesn't matter what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longings. It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know will you risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive. Have you touched the center of your own sorrows, have you been opened by life's betrayals or have you become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain. Can you sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or to fix it. Can you be with joy, mine or you own, if you can can dance with wildness and let ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be carefull, to be realistic. It doesn't mater if the stories you are telling me are true. Are you willing to disappoint another to be true to yourself, Can you bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul: if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy. Can you see beauty even when it's not pretty everyday, and if you can source your own life from its presence. Can you live with failure yours or mine and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout Yes. It doesn't interest me how much money you make or where you live. I want to know if you can get up after after a night of grief and despair weary and brusied to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children. It doesn't matter who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the of the FIRE with me and not shrink back. I want to know what sustains you when all else falls away. Most important I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments. All that I ask I am willing to give. AR
