21 THINGS BLACK PEOPLE NEED TO DO...



Once again, like me or not, !



1. The first Americans or Native Americans going back to 13,000 BC were black! Look up the Folsom people who lived in Arizona.


2. One of the best reasons to stop our use of the term African
American and say Black. A white person who was born in Africa, who moves to America is An African American and qualifies for financial aid, etc., but will get the jobs/pay privileges afforded to whites.


3. Look up the Slavery Law of 1665 (which stayed in effect until
1968) and the Maryland Doctrine o f Exclusion (1638): both laws state that blacks must be excluded from the benefits afforded whites, and that blacks must remain noncompetitive with whites, except in sports and entertainment.


4. Two white men: Bill Gates and Larry Elision, combined have more wealth than the combined wealth of all 36 million blacks in America.
Civil Rights did not change the economic landscape or the balance of power in America.


5. Asians received 80% of all government minority set aside contracts. Hello!!


6. Blacks eat more fish than whites by a 4 to 1 margin. For every dollar that whites spend on fish, blacks spend $9 on fish. Fish sold wholesale for $1 will retail at $2.50 - $3.00. Guess what business we should be in as Blacks?


7. There isn`t any black owned national cable, or major network television stations. Cathy Hughes, the black woman who owns our only black owned radio stations, plans to sell to white owners after hearing the deal Bob Johnson received for selling BET. (Cathy Hughes is from OMAHA y`all!)


8. There are no black owned companies on the Wall Street Stock
Exchange; where blacks own the majority or controlling interest of the stock.


9. Ninety-six percent (96%) of all black inmates are men.


10. Over the next two years 440,000 black inmates will be released from prison. TheState has no place to put them as they reenter society. A profitable business would be a Halfway house!


11. In 1860, 98% of all Blacks in America worked for White people.
In 2001, 98% of all Blacks in America still work for white people.


12. In 1860, blacks in America had a combined net worth of one half of 1 percentage point. Guess what, in 2001, after Civil Rights, Jesse
Jackson, Oprah, Shaq, NAACP, and Urban League, our combined net worth is half a percentage point.


13. For every dollar earned by a Jewish person, that dollar touches
12 to 18 Jewish hands before it leaves their community. For every dollar earned by a black person it leaves the community soon as he or
she earns it.


14. The last week of April 2003 in Washington, DC black teenagers were arrested and booked for eating McDonalds on the metro subway. Cops cited recent 5-4 court decision as the permission to arrest law
breakers even for minor offenses.


15. Sixty-seven percent (67%) of all hate crimes in America are against blacks.


16. After we get through being pleased that we have carpet in our office, a secretary, our name on the door and make six figures, we do
not own anything.


17. What will happen if you miss 6 months of work without pay? All we`ve left for our children is debt not an inheritance. You cannot pass welfare or food stamps onto our kids as a nest egg! We are not even in the race.


18. By the way, the word "race" hit the English language in the
16th century when Europeans held a contest to see who will win the race to gather the lost wealth through exploitation of blacks.


19. You must read Powernomics by Claude Anderson. This is our blueprint to create wealth, not just have a job, but be a business owner, so you can hire people, be listed on the stock exchange, and develop businesses to meet our needs.


This is "Good Food" for thought.

1. Register to vote, or shut up!



2. Take all that money out of those stocking caps, cans, mattresses, and floorboards and invest money something. For starters, invest in the food you eat and clothes you wear.



3. Learn another language, Ebonics does not count.


4. Stop using the "N" word in the year 2005 and beyond, especially since Merriam-Webster has announced it isn`t changing the definition.



5. Buy something each week from a black vendor.


6. Stop blaming white folk for 98% of your problems while giving them 100% of your money.


7. Subscribe to Ebony, JET, Black Enterprise, Essence and your local black paper. Then subscribe to one of the three weeklies: Time, Newsweek, or US News and World Report. - After we read about what`s going on in our world, how about knowing what`s going on in theirs? It is after all, your world too.


8. **** Stop walking past each other and not speaking. ****


9. Be on time for something . anything!


10. Get an annual check up; herbs do not cure everything!


11. In all thy ways acknowledge Him (GOD) and He shall direct thy path." and prioritize this as #1.


12. Stop being jealous of one another, learn to look past the material things and see the person for who they are. (HALLELUJAH!!)


13. Get involved in at least one charitable or voluntary community service. Learn how to do well by doing good.


14. Say a prayer for someone besides yourself.


15. Hug your child/spouse/parent/sibling today.


16. LOVE ONE ANOTHER! Remember the Million Man March!!


17. Learn to Let Go and Let God.


18. Stop talking about it, and be about it.


19. Let GOD order your steps instead of the world.


20. P.U.S.H.!! Pray Until Something Happens!


21. In all that you do, get understanding, (turnoff the TV, and open a book).


Top Ten Rules for Single Men in 2005:


1. BE HONEST (and blunt) FROM THE DOOR. Let her know if you have a girl, if you have 2 girls, if you have a baby`s mama, if you just want sex, if you are looking for a wife, etc....don`t build up false hopes i.e. lead her on...why? Cuz everyone else does, be different. Let her know what the deal is, if she "Can`t handle the truth!" (what movie was that?) Or she is not looking for that right now, then she`ll keep it moving. Don`t be an Oscar Winner like Denzel for three months and then get mad when she finds out all your dirt later....and they will find out. Time always reveals the truth.
1.5. BE CONFIDENT. If she smells your lack of confidence, or self doubt, she`s a goner mark my words. You have to think you are the man before she or anyone else will believe it. If you don`t think it, who will. No one wants to be with a loser or someone who emits a loser, low self worth aura.


2. TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT, INSTEAD OF ASKING FOR HER NUMBER, ASK HER FOR HER EMAIL ADDRESS...That way, you can learn about her, dialogue with her, while building up the anticipation for the first phone call and/ or meeting in person. If your written skills are tight, she`ll be anxiously waiting to talk to you and dead the emaill shyt real quick. Or if she starts talking crazy, can`t spell, or if half the yard, the block, or the city has cracked it, you never have to call her.


3. IF YOU DO GET THE NUMBER, BE EASY AND DON`T CALL THAT NIGHT OR THE NEXT DAY. Maintain your normal schedule, work, class, gym, calling your current girlfriend(s), or hanging with your boys. Calling too soon reeks of desperation like you have nothing else going on and just want to hit as soon as possible. Most ladies know every good man has a woman (and vice versa), and that if they want you, they must take you out of your current situation - survival of the fittest. If you come off as desperate,she`ll think, Something must be wrong with this guy, he looks that good and doesn`t have a girl? "Or, "Am I the only female checking for this dude? Let me google his %#&@$!..."


4. LIMIT THE SLANG. Don`t be fooled by Destiny Child`s latest song. You just met her, easy on the "ma" and "boo" and "what`s really good" and "already" or whatever you guys say these days. The real quality ladies over 20 are not trying to hear all that. Save that for later when she knows you better or eliminate it period.


5. THE FIRST DATE SHOULD NOT BE SPENT ON THE COUCH WATCHING TV. "Yo ma, I`m feeling you, when can I can come through.!"


6. NEVER ASK TO KISS HER OR TOUCH HER. If you have to ask, it`s not time. Her body language should tell you when it`s a go, make your move only when you are 100% sure it`s a go. And don`t take too long to make a move, or she`ll think you are gay or that you find her unattractive. Give her the opportunity to push you away sometimes and say, "Not yet, I don`t know you..." Being pursued is fun. Let them tell their little friends, "Girl he thought it was going down last night, I quickly stopped that."


7. LEAVE RED LOBSTER, SIZZLER, PIZZA HUT, etc. ALONE. Women love to eat, but research Zagat and find a top rated italian, japanese, thai, greek or some other mom and pop type restaurant to take her to. Her man already took her to those spots, you want to come off as someone different and unique.


8. YOUR SMELL GAME MUST BE UP. Women love to tell their friends how a guy they just met smells good. Be that guy, yeah him. Make sure when you see her in person that you smell good - and I`m not talking only cologne. My wife likes the smell of my underarms. But leave that apple body wash to the ladies though, you don`t want to smell like a . Just be clean.


9. NEVER ASK, "HOW WAS I?" AFTERWARD. That shows lack of confidence. You know how you were. If you were not up to par, she`ll let you know by either not returning your calls anymore, give you a secondchance because she likes you, tell you what she likes so that the next time you handle your business.


10. NEVER TRY TO HOLLA AT HER GIRL. Girls are territorial, they get jealous and they envy one anothers man, job, prospects, clothes, looks, etc. Few things deal a more crushing blow than her finding out you slept with her so called "friend". I know you want to, I know the friend is hot, I know she is giving you the eye, but if you must be bad, go screw her enemy.

I believe it is our obligation as artist to reach the people, in the best way we know how.

My personal journey started when I was a child. I was drawing all the time, people, friends, anything that my eyes observed and loved.

Though I have been formally drawing and painting since I was in college, It was in the early 90`s that I became emotionally, spiritually, and creatively involved with depicting images of my own people.

I decided to bring my experience and talent to the urban community I believe my passion and talent in fine arts separate myself from the average designer.

Through these mediums I have created my own niche the global urban market

As a independent success story I have made myself a unique and integral force within the urban entertainment industry.

I believe my drawing has style, with fluid and flowing motion that incorporated consciousness.

I also believe telling stories through art is both an ancient, modern, and functional form that enables an artist to communicate on a large scale to people young and old.

Today I am looking towards the future with a concept that taps into the imagination. I pride myself on the ability to stay on the cutting edge of designing,painting and fashion.As a visual communicator, we must do more than just convey information. We should move people to act.....
