A FEW WORDS OF WISDOM:
"Playmate or Soulmate"
In the quest for happiness we must be sure that we don`t SETTLE for a playmate when GOD has a SOULMATE waiting for us. Sometime this is a HARD distinction to make. PLAYMATES are TRICKY. They are so much FUN to be with that even the SMARTEST of us will be FOOLED into thinking this has to be our SOULMATE.
Worse than that too many of us attempt to MAKE a SOUL MATE out of a PLAYMATE. The DANGER of this is, YEARS later after YEARS of PLAYING we will MEET our SOULMATE, but it may be to LATE then. We may have already made a LIFE-MATE of our PLAYMATE or will may have been HURT from PLAYING too hard that we are in NO SHAPE ourselves to be anyone`s anything.
How can we distinguish between THE one and just ANOTHER ONE?
First we must be open with OURSELVES about who we are. ONLY YOU know and the LORD knows what is really in your HEART and MIND. Only you know what it is that TRULY makes you HAPPY and FEEL WHOLE. In order to find your SOUL MATE you have to know what it is in your OWN SOUL FIRST. The BIBLE warns us about being EQUALLY YOKED. If you`re DATING someone who THINKS the word SOUL refers only to a part of a shoe and YOU and GOD are on a first name basis, YOU better THINK again if you thought this was a LOVE CONNECTION.
Secondly, we must be willing to heed the voice of the LORD. Yes sister, even when the LORD is saying that nerdy guy in your science class is the one for you. So what if he doesn`t look like DENZEL, he is going to TREAT YOU like the JEWEL that YOU are and NOT only that but also HIS SOUL and YOURS will COMMUNE with EACH OTHER. In order to heed the voice of the LORD we have to put our THINKING on the back burner. GOD said that you would be GIVEN the DESIRES of your HEART. Apparently YOU desire nerdy little geeks IF that is the one the LORD sends YOUR WAY.
If you ENJOY PLAYING, stay on the PLAYGROUND. There are PLENTY of PLAYMATES out there to OCCUPY your TIME. But don`t SPEND too much time PLAYING or you may PLAY your LIFE AWAY. Eventually YOU`LL NEED to come in from PLAYING and be READY to receive the SOULMATE that GOD has waiting for you. :-)
BEING BLACK IN CORPORATE AMERICA
They take my kindness for weakness
They take my silence for speechless
They consider my uniqueness strange
They call my language slang
They see my confidence as conceit
They see my mistakes as defeat
They consider my success accidental
They minimize my intelligence to "potential"
My questions mean I`m unaware
My advancement is somehow unfair
Any praise is preferential treatment
To voice concern is discontentment
If I stand up for myself, I`m too defensive
If I don`t trust them, I`m too apprehensive
I`m deviant if I separate
I`m fake if I assimilate
My character is constantly under attack
Pride for my race makes me "TOO BLACK"
Other than the above, I`m treated like everyone else
