Take the time

To every thing there is a season, a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Some of us should know, myself included, that instant intimacy is very often followed by desperate disillusion. We can become so emotionally charged by a person that we allow ourselves to be intimate before we know who the person really is. When we give our mind and bodies to another being, we are giving them a piece of our souls. We might want to take the time to find out if they deserve it. Sexual activity is not the only way to let someone know we like them. Sharing information, supporting each other?s goals, giving of our time and energy without expectations sends a much stronger message than sex. We must take time to know the other person; understand what they want, where they are going and figure out if we want to be in the same place. When we let down our hair too early in the game we are apt to end up with a messed up head.

Peace in relationships

Since God chose you to be the holy people whom he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. You must take allowance for each other's faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love. Love is what binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are all called to live in peace.
