I've been gone for awhile, please be patient with me while I work on updating my spot. Just a little bit about myself. I am 42 years old and the mother of a 9 year old son. I'm here to meet and chat with others who share my interests.

I am a child of the hip hop era. But I mostly love music that allows me to take it down a notch when I need to. Jazz, Gospel and Slow Cuts will do the job. Erykah Badu, Eric Benet and my girl Jill Scott along with candles and jasmin incense are gifts I give to myself to ease the soul and quite the mental. You know sometimes to get anything done or to get a clearer picture we need to just sit still for a moment.

I am a die hard romantic. I love to read and write poetry. I have just finished my second novel and I`ve been shopping around for agents. Throw some positive energy this way. PLEASE!!! I`m now working at completing my third one.

Just to get you started I`d like to give you a sample of my thoughts and expressions written through my poetry. I hope you enjoy this little appetizer. There will be more to come.

SEASONS

WINTER
you came in from the cold
into my arms for warmth
protection from the elements
surrounded in our world

a world of a peaceful you and I
a world of us and we alone
filled with

weekends in bed
breakfast in bed
loving in bed

SPRING
our hibernation of love
slowly coming to an end
bluejays singing, flowers budding
leaving our

weekends in bed
our breakfast in bed
our loving in bed

SUMMER
short skirts/backs out/polished toes
pierced bellies/convertible rides
Sundays in the park
steamy temperatures/hot women
calling you out to play
causing you to stray
away from our

weekends in bed
our breakfast in bed
our loving in bed

AUTUMN
the swelter of summers vapors
no more
a cascade of colorful branches
Indian summers
gentle breezes
we/on your mind
us/on your heart
my name/on your lips

thinking of
longing for

weekends in bed
breakfast in bed
loving in bed

WINTER
trudging through the harshness
of what was
you pass that place
you once knew
a place of unconditional love
hesitant .
you slowly knock
I open up
welcoming you
leaving the past
behind
you come in from the cold
into my arms for warmth
protection from the elements
surrounded in our world

a world of a peaceful you and I
a world of us and we alone

filled with

weekends in bed
breakfast in bed
loving in bed

again.

The Definition of A Woman

Please don`t define me
By who you think I am
Or what I should be
The definition of me
Is not what pleases
You the most
For your eyes to see

I am just what I am
Powerful, Intelligent
Strong enough to lead
Erect and Tall
Yet humble enough
To stand behind others
To catch them
When they fall

My thighs, hips and butt
The length of my skirt
Or the amount of clevage
I may choose to show
Does not make me the woman
You think you may know

The definition of a woman
Is what I define it as
Look inside my soul
As though looking through glass
Then maybe you will see
That only I can define the true me

Break Away

Chipping away
It all falls down
Ever so slowly
Over the days, months and years
Pieces of that wall surrounding your heart
Open, naked
Butt naked

Ready and willing to give yourself freely
You convince yourself
To give to one, to be with one and only one
Even though you legally have another

Memories of rejection from your legal lover or other
Whatever she is to you
Married only in ink you say
Though you lie next to her at night
With an invisible barrier
Separating the two of you
From one another's embrace

You move on to another lover
You do your thang

Memories of rejection from your legal lover
Draws you to another
Knowing the end is near
You prepare for your breakaway

TIME

Can we spend a little time
A little you and I
One on one
No distractions, no tv, no cell phone
Time
Alone
Can we sit and talk
Share our dreams and fears
Discover each other
Mentally and spritually
Can you and I
Become one
With only the flicker of candlelight
Jasmin incense and Luther serenading us
To another level
A paradise we`ve both been dreaming of
Can we?
Just you and I
With nothing between us
But us
Become one
Touch, caress
Make love over and over and over and over and over
Until in each other`s embrace
We fall into a restful slumber
Can we spend a little time?
A little you and I
One on one
Time
Together
Alone
You and I

Last Night

You made love to me
last night in my mind.
You kissed me in places
that made me tingle
and shake uncontrollably.

I felt your body
on top of mine,
covering me.
Reaching my inner core
deeper and deeper
with each thrust.
Loving me
as if it were our last.
You inside of me,
being a part of me.
Reaching our peak
together as one.
This happened in my mind
last night.

You held me in your arms.
Kissing my forehead,
telling me you loved me and touching your lips
gently on mine.
I laid my head
upon your chest
feeling protected
as if nothing
could ever harm me.
This happened in my mind
last night.

Last night
I wanted you.
I needed you.

But suddenly
I awoke at dawn.
Wishing you were here.
Wishing the past
could be changed.
Wishing to erase
all of the hurt
and pain.

Thrown into truth.
Reality reminds me.
This happened
in my mind
last night.

For My Brothers

I Got Cha' Back

My brother I got cha' back not just a clique

No jive talkin' line just to make you mine for the moment

Calling on you only when the rent is due

I got cha' back

After a hard days work to support me, mine and yours

I'll massage you from your temples to your toes

I'll rub you down and kiss you up

When others stop believing I'll lift you up

I'll give you strong shoulders to lean on

As your tears flow from years of hurt embedded in your soul

I'll be your lover, your close confidant and friend I got cha' back

Not even Denzel or LL could take me away from that man I call by boo

Sisters you know what I'm saying I'm sure you've got one too

I got cha' back

Still In Love

Holding you tightly

Kissing you softly

You're under my skin

Buried in my heart

Others may get a second

Maybe lucky enough to earn a minute

But you have me for a lifetime

ReInvention

Born the annointed gifted child you were

Soon forgetting your Lord's words of loving care

On  top of moutain tops to the lowest valley drops

You had it all then came the fall

Trading money for lives in the dope game

To saving souls for heaven's gain

Shared your dreams with me, wrote them down

Planned and executed prayerfully and carefully

REINVENTED

MADE OVER&PRAYED OVER

Not staying down for long you bounced back

Christ Lead, Powerful, God Driven and Strong
