personal message
God's greatest gift to us is peace-of-mind. This comes from being
truthful and fair in our dealings with all people. If we are not
true to others, we are obviously not being true to ourselves. If we
are not true to ourselves, we cannot possibly be true to others. My
mother told me once that there are two things that can't be hidden.
Smoke and Fire. I later learned that there are two things that
can't be faked. Being rich, or being smart. I have never been rich,
but I've always been smart enough to be well-connected. Lessons to
grow on. Some of us old-timers have a lot to pass along. But I'd
rather die with it than waste it on deaf ears. We brothers need to
respect our women, and nurture or develop a sense of family and
community to pass along to our kids, in order to deliver us from
our common crisis. Aimlessness. The wasted mind. As I've said to
others, I don't have kids of my own. But all kids are my kids. My
job, my duty is to teach them. This is what qualifies me as an
adult. The problems of black people in the United States are but
little different from the problems of black people everywhere in
the world. We need to rise above feelings of inadequacy and
dejection, and find our peace in appreciation of our greatness in
the world. We need to seek our roots in Africa, but leave behind
all vestiges of slave mentality. Truth will set us free. Being an
African-American man, I feel comfortable in my belief that there is
nothing more beautiful than a Black woman. She is to be honored.
But you don't have to take my word for it. As you will see, I live
by it, and only say what's on my mind. While I'm on that subject,
let me add, that even while I'm single, unattached, and free, I'm
not here looking for love (believe it or not). I'm not the least
bit lonely, and get along quite well with and by myself. I'm
"straight", in case you wonder (not 'curious' like that), and
probably more virile than most. I just love "smart" women! Fine is
good, too. I was a geek before there were geeks, and had all the
girls. I was a nerd before there were nerds, and helped the pretty
ones with their homework. So, I've been spoiled like that forever.
I only like good girls. I don't hunt, don't do one-nighters, and
prefer celibacy to drama. I have few friends, and prefer it that
way. All of my friends are good friends. I know, I picked them. The
way my mind works, I also know that eventually I will pick one in
particular. I only need one. One good one. Did I say GOOD? OK, I
didn't want to miss that point. I will love all of my friends. I
always do. But somewhere out there is one that I will love forever.
I can wait. I can't wait.
