I'm a real and classy gentleman with the necessary attributes that you'd expect a man to have. I'm definitely not a dime a dozen brotha looking to get you into the sheets or put you under undue pressure right off the jump. Again, classy, and moral. I take life seriously but I don't make it too serious, and that's balanced by a warm hearted silliness and zest for life. I turned a youthful 43 on July 3 (yes, a Cancer man) and by no means do I plan to ever look my age, thanks to mom's genes. LOL. I'm fairly eclectic, open-minded, extremely balanced, optimistic, and communicative. I do a very good job concealing my shy side, a Cancer trait. No need to talk about being intellectual as we should always strive to be our best. No need to talk about pet peaves, deal breakers or turn offs because we all have our standards and preferences, right? I won't purport to be the most honest man, because simply, shouldn't I already be? Nor will I knock the men who post ads on CL with dubious intentions.....women need guys like that for batting practice and to hone their skills about what "game" is. I choose the road less traveled, go against the fray, and refuse to be the indistinguishable penguin. I am me and I'm looking for somebody who is confident about who she is. I know what I want in life, marriage, kids, career, home, community, legacy, religion, friendship, and love. And equally, I definitely know what I don't want, can't tolerate or refuse to settle with. I want the most, not the lesser. To give you an idea about my seriousness in looking for a relationship, my last 2 and a half relationships spanned over 17 years....partly the reason I never got into the dating game...plus I'm shy about that whole bit. Good decent people I've met, but still haven't found "her", and I know she's out there. Thus, I leave no stone unturned in my quest for love and to be equally yoked. Hence, my CL ad.

I need a versatile, hip yet professional ride-or-die chic in the most respectable of terms, someone with fire in her heart that will be in the trenches with me and will have my back no matter what, who will be just as supportive, candid, devoted, and committed to the success of our relationship as I will be. I thought that I had found that woman, but alas I was as wrong as a brown belt with black shoes. And that's pretty wrong if you ask me.

So, this is me, turning the page, really the next chapter. I will pridefully put myself out there knowing that "she" is out there. If not now, if not today, then on one of these tomorrows. I will find her, or like one of the CL readers predicted, she will find me.

More about me: Separated since April 2009 pending the final stages of divorce in Jan 2011, live alone, own car, home, no kids but a strong desire to be a father, non smoker, very casual drinker, corporate office position, very family oriented, good cook, fashionable, love decorating, billiards, theatre and arts, fine dining, romantic, affectionate, artistic, tech guru, compassionate and ambitious. Strangely, I hate smiling pics and only did it because of the CL responses to smile. I'm 5 ft 11, 187 lbs and my preference is a small framed woman size 8 or smaller, though I'm open.
