This is a facinating word to me. As I sit here at midnight with my laptop in my lap and the Tavis Smiley show whispering in the backround, I think about all the ways that we use this word in the English Language. In everyday speech it simiply means to leave something or someone behind. As in walking on the street and passing your house or driving and passing streets, building and landmarks.
