I'm a walking, talking, living, breathing, beautiful contradiction; I'm kind and mean, goofy and serious, intelligent and ignorant--we all are of something. All in all, I'm just a young black woman in pursuit of truth, black unity and uplift, self discovery and improvement, my purpose in life, and a closer relationship with God.
I hail from Mobile, AL, and I'm a graduate of Dillard University in New Orleans with a BA in Sociology/Social Work. I currently reside in the Metro-Atlanta area.
My Interests:
Music-I enjoy listening to almost all genres of music. I'll give anything a shot, as long as it's good music. Yes, I even listen to country!
Reading-I'm pretty versatile in the literature area as well. Types of books I've read range from The Holy Bible, The Mis-Education of the Negro and Huey: Spirit of a Panther to Coldest Winter Ever and Thugs and the Women Who Love Them. You'll most likely catch me reading about dynamic African Americans and others in the Diaspora. I'm currently reading Ready For Revolution: The Life and Struggle of Stokely Carmichael (Kwame Ture)
Poetry-I don't write poetry but I love to read it and listen to it.
Facts about Me:
I like to go out every once in a while, but I'm really a homebody.
Some call me deep, others an "activist." I see myself as neither, yet. I still have so much knowledge to gain and I want to put that knowledge to use for the good of my people.
I try to keep an open mind and look at things through different lenses. However, one thing I don't see myself compromising is my Christianity. My faith is unapologetically unchanging.
Just because I'm a Christian doesn't mean I'm a saint. The only difference between a Christian and a person who isn't one is that the Christian repented for her sins and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

I really enjoy cuddling, especially in the cold winter months.

I intend to travel the world before I leave this earth; I can mark Japan and South Korea off my list :-)
Though I may sometimes take them for granted, God has blessed me with family and friends I wouldn't trade for the world.
