Yesterday, Tampa Police raided the Sigma Delta Pi sorority house at Westborn College and arrested twenty-three women on charges that included pandering, hazing violations, racketeering, and recording sexual acts without the per- mission of the participants. As details of the arrests were released it was revealed that the sorority house was a veritable sex slavery stable. You have to appreciate the ingenuity of the seniors. They would haze their pledges by telling them that they had to have sex with a certain number of anonymous men selected from an Internet dating site. The 'anonymous men', however, were actually recruited by the seniors to create profiles on that specific dating site and guaranteed to be selected for the hazing dates in ex- change for money. There is evidence that at least 2 of the senior girls in the sorority received in excess of $2,500 in checks from men who were pre-selected as sex-dates for the pledges. These three men have also been taken into custody in con- nection with the sex-dates. At the scene, police seized computers that had more than 20 hours of digital videos recordings of the pledges engaged in sexual intercourse in the sorority house. The videos were apparently recorded without the knowledge of the male partners via a web cam mounted on a computer monitor. Predictably, some parents were outraged, not at their children but at the school and the police, asking why action wasn't taken sooner.
