CHOKE LIVE FREESTYLE /f TOLLAH da GOD/Raw Deal/B.Bigga/ Pressure
and Live Performances Tre-4, G-Boro, Queen City, High Point,
K-ville, Raleigh etc.
Choke opening for YING YANG TWINS. Over 1000 fans cheering. What's up BP. I am Choke. I create and perform music. I am also a Graphic artist and graphic designer. I have a full time gig but my business ventures are my real jobs. I believe that no person in today's economy and/or society should ever depend on a job, business or corporation to sustain their existence. You will be in for a rude awakening when the rug is pulled from under you. Minorities like myself should have their own company or at least work for an independent entity who will at least act like they give a %#&@$! about you. That will help us all build and educate. Let me chill for i go on a tangent. I appreciate you checking out my page and please listen to my music. PEACE Who is
Choke?
That s the question that everyone is asking. This North Carolina native has been making quite a buzz around his hometown of Winston-Salem. Better known for being one of the leading tobacco manufacturers in the agricultural industry, Winston-Salem doesn t seem like a place where raw Hip-Hop talent resides. On the contrary, Choke, better known as Charles Hauser Jr., has taken the Piedmont/Triad area to another plateau. At 24, the baby-faced lyricist has a flow that makes you cup your hand to your mouth and pray that this is not a face-to-face battle rap, because his opponent would surely lose. People all around the city of Winston-Salem recognize that Choke brings new meaning to the phrase reppin where you from. With the release of his first solo album, MAKE MOVES, the young hopeful demonstrates his versatility. He covers everything from hustling to ho-hoppin . With a voice heavy enough to sink the Titanic, Choke ensures that tracks like Keep it hype and Real Sh*t are guaranteed to bang even without the bass kick. He also adds nostalgia to the album with Sad Dreams, a collaboration with another young hopeful in the rap game, Gentry. Even Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick couldn t have put it down like this. The track is about a woman who didn t hold on to her man when he was down on his luck, but now he is a successful entertainer. Nikki adds the vocals and rounds off the song with a soft soprano plea to recapture her man, which leaves you humming the hook long after the track has ended. The record was created and produced by Choke himself and long-time colleague Justin Summers on their independent label, Thorough Entertainment. Both prove that the combination of diligence, hard work, and perseverance is what it takes to deliver a phenomenal product to a locally concentrated population. They hope through their marketing techniques, people around the world will become acquaintedwith their modest operation. This album is unlike anything you would expect from an artist who doesn t reside in one of the five boroughs or some other metropolitan area of the globe. It escapes comprehension why none of the tracks are in heavy rotation at radio stations across the nation. Perhaps if Thorough Entertainment had the funding comparable to that of a major recording label, Choke would be a household name. If you enjoy true Hip-Hop music and support your local artist, be sure to purchase this album at the RECORD EXCHANGE. It is available at both the Winston-Salem and Greensboro locations. I guarantee you won t be disappointed. ![]() ![]() ![]() friends (310) |
