I'd just like to say, as black people we need to stop
blaming.other races for the problems in our community and start
holding ourselves and our local leadership/government
accountable
I see a lot of us on here have those pictures on our pages
drinking at the club and concerts and that is fine. But that is the
problem with us, when its free to get in the club or $1.00 drinks
til 11:00 we have our a$$es there standing outside the club in
lines wrapped around the building but when the call comes to become
involved in issues that are important politically and in our
communities we are overwhelmingly absent. Lets stop investing in
rims and clothes and start investing in real estate and those mid
cap and emerging market 401 (k) funds. Lets start being more
proactive instead of reactive. Lets start demanding change and
demanding better from our local leadership and our schools. Lets
make our leadership and schools work for the tax money they deduct
from our paychecks. Lets vote and make change after all our
ancestors died for us to have that right. Lets stop accepting
mediocrity and strive to be extraordinary. Lets stop standing still
and start a new movement. Lets start standing for something instead
of falling for anything. Lets stop not caring and start giving a
damn. Lets stop being shallow and looking at what's on the surface
and start digging deeper and exploring. Lets stop questioning
Barack Obama's blackness and start opening our eyes and ears to see
his vision and listen to his message. Lets stop living beyond our
means to keep up with the Jonses and start saving more. Lets stop
reading less of vibe magazine and start reading more of Time,
Newsweek, Free Press and Detroit News. Lets stop watching less of
BET and start watching more of CNN and MSNBC, Lets start listening
less to FM 98 and 102.7 and turn on WCHB 1200 AM and stay up on
current events. Lets start searching for the truth instead of
believeing everything we see on TELL-LIE-VISION. Lets spend less
time at the mall buying new outfits and in the mirror to get ready
for a night out on the town and spend more QUALITY time with these
kids and going to parent/teacher conferences and take an interest
in their extra curricular activities. We need to get off this light
skin/dark skin who's better than who bullshyt. We need to start
supporting each other instead of hating on each other. Talk about
Jews, Chinese, Japanese all you want but the reason why they have
and we don't have is because they support each other and see the
bigger picture but we would rather look at the much smaller picture
sitting in the headrest of a car we are flossnig around in.
Be careful. Be careful of your thoughts, they become words. Be
careful of your words, they become your actions. Be careful of your
actions, they become your character.
No games here. No baggage here. No drama here. I am pretty much
an open book, very single, no kids, a nice guy most of the time and
an a$$hole when I have to be.. I have to admit I have a polarizing
personaltiy, either you love or hate me. If we are cool and become
friends (and i don't use that term loosely) I am there when you
need me, if you need something and I have it I got you. If your car
is broke down @ 2:00 am in the morning, I will come help you out by
2:20 am with my AAA card. My major flaws are that I can hold
grudges and can be impatient at times. I'm far from perfect. I'm a
work in progress. I do enjoy going to comedy and jazz clubs and
live sport events.
The type of woman that I desire is intelligent, sophisticated,
classy, educated, independent, sexy, sensual, savvy, opinionated,
spontaeous, has a sense of humor, sense of purpose and SAYS WHAT
SHE MEANS AND MEANS WHAT SHE SAYS, has a little bit of bytch in her
and a whole lot of freak in her and is not on some bullshyt. I like
a woman wearing any kind of shoes except issues. Most important,
she can converse about more than what clubs have two dollar drinks
til 10:00 pm and free entry before 11:00 p.m. She has to have the
ability to hold a conversation about current events and social
issues. To the women that play games, i have run out of quarters
and can't play anymore.
Some of you women are a trip. Get over yourselves and quit
pretending that you are all that plus tax and not living check to
check like most of the people in this country. If you were really
truly all that you wouldn't be on this site hoping to meet someone
you have something in common with. Ladies it's '08 and time to set
the record straight, when you share info about yourself, feel free
to tell the people you meet not only your positive attributes but
also your flaws so that a man can make a well informed decision
about whether or not to continue pursuing you
Memo to the women that like that thug man...........be careful
what you ask for because you just might get it. You love that thug
until he takes your car and disappears with it for hours and is
late picking you from work like Jody in Baby Boy. You love that
thug until he goes upside your head and you need a restraining
order/PPO. Ain't shyt women attract ain't shyt men. Estabishing and
maintaining higher standards is a remedy for avoiding this
problem
One other thing. It's ok for you to act like you are all that
and diss me at Fairlane and/or Sommerset Collection but don't try
to act like you are all that and diss me when we are shopping in
the $1.00 dishwashing liquid/carpet freshner aisle at Family
Dollar, LOL.
TURN ONS: A woman with Natural beauty, nice pretty smile,
pretty teeth, smooth skin, stability, a good mother that is
involved in her child's activities, sports the french tip
manicure/pedicure and a toe ring or two and supportive of her
man
TURN OFFS: A woman that whines like Run's wife on Run's House,
lol, uses her psychological/emotional issues as a crutch, lacks a
plan for the future, expects a man to pay to be with her, takes
more than she gives, drinks/smokes too much, would rather by a new
outfit than pay a utility that's about to be disconnected (this one
tells me right away where your priorities are), finger
points/blames others instead of taking ownership of her bullshyt,
another major urn off, hypocrites (i.e. women that claim to be a
"good" Christian and on your walk with God but the way you carry
yourself and the way you dress suggest otherwise-walk it like you
talk it)
