"DA WORD"

In the beginning, GOD spoke words-

"HE" said, "LET THERE BE LIGHT",

2 shine upon da Heavens and Earth-

Illuminating everything, yet 2 be made within "HIS" sight.

Mankind was created in "HIS" image-

Man I am, so words are what I'll use,

I'll use my words 2 uplift and inspire-

Not 2 demean or abuse.

I'll use my words 2 heal and comfort-

Never 2 cause pain or hurt,

And if by chance what I say stings you, it's just a thing called tough luv-

May have 2 use some harsh words sometimes, 2 effectively make it work.

"HE" has given me many gifts-

Like those of verse and speech,

"HE" guides me through my day-2-day-

And inspires me 2 teach.

So listen 2 what I ask of you-

All who read this hear me now,

Be careful of da words you choose 2 use-

Use your words 2 build people up, and not 2 tear us down.

Great power lies within da tongue-

And of what comes from da lips,

Like armor piercing bullets, aimed right at your heart-

Full of malice and anger, the heart, they'll surely rip.

So instead, choose 2 shine some light upon this world-

4 we only have 1 chance,

2 leave this world in a better state than we found it-

And 2 make our words everlast...
