I met my husband here on Black Planet, so to encourage all that have a page, this will work if you are sincere about meeting someone for love.
I was able to create a Christian e-mail prayer list from the contacts that were made from BP. My husband was one of those diamonds in the ruff. To make a long story short, my husband's father, and brother both died within a day of each other, it took a large toll on my husband and he needed much prayer.
We began to communicate more from the prayer until one day my husband asked me if I was married, I told him no and invited him to check out my profile here on BP.
We continued to correspond via BP, until one day my husband said he would like to meet me in person. My husband is from Nigeria, and by this time he had asked me too meet him in person, he had left out from Nigeria and was headed to South Korea to take care of his business. He invited me to meet him over in South Korea. This was a big first step, to go on a first date, so with much prayer and convincing, I decided to go. That was in the year of 2004.
I started corresponding with my husband around July of 2002, and more personally after his father and brother passed in November of 2003. I flew 6,000 miles to meet him in Feburary of 2004. I flew another 8,000 miles in March of 2005, to Umahia, Nigeria to wed my husband on April 10th, 2005.
We have been successful married for one year and is living here in the United States in the great state of Texas.
Thanks BP for giving us that platform to communicate; one that takes away that fear of expressing yourself to someone of the opposite sex.
