On Feb 15th, 2006, Dre left a beautiful animated note in my guestbook after we had a friendly chat. He shared that he was just back from Iraq and lived in NC. After wishing him well I told him to keep in touch. Seeing his quote, "Mr. Lawrence has landed..." made me curious, (was he a AF vet or a Marine as he said?) and I checked out his page. I immediately liked what I saw but didn't think any more of it.
A few weeks later I saw him on line in 40s chat and asked him how he was. He then relocated to Tennessee, back to his home town and we exchanged numbers and talked daily and played dominoes online together. He always was a good friend to talk to and we'd share our relationship experiences and current BP experiences. He was always full of laughter and jokes and he always knew how to make me smile. I would always ask, "are you sure you don't have a girlfriend?" Then I finally asked him if he would be "exclusive" with me and he said yes. He said it was the happiest day of his life (and it was mine too).
We talked and talked every day, for hours, at home, on our jobs...fell asleep on the phone, cell bills skyrocketing, the family still laughs about it, we were obsessed! You would not believe how much of our lives were alike! Our experiences, habits and some products we used were almost the same. When we graduated to webcam it made our relationship more personal. We always have to explain to people, "Yeah, we were a little eccentric!!!" LOL!
Our school and work schedules always conflicted so the day that I finally touched my fiance last December was the day I left all in California and moved to Tennessee to be with him. Starting that day my life had never been so wonderful.
From our home office we always come and visit our friends in 40s chat and they love us too...it's always been like family and huggies to all of them!!!
This past Vday weekend he officially presented the ring and I just repeated the same answer as I have had for months before. "YES!!!"
Our date is set for the fourth week in June...and as always, we'll keep BP posted!!!
