Darnelle "Chyna" Holley was borne a Gifted Artist. She began singing at the age of seven to entertain her family. Her vocal abilities has even lead to her performing on stages such as the legendary Apollo Theatre. She has trained theatrically with Sister's Circle an independent Christian Acting Troupe in Baltimore MD. Chyna began writing Poetry as early as age twelve when her maternal Grandfather suddenly took ill and died. As well, Mrs. Holley has written, directed and performed her own original material for the stage. She's often portrayed Harriet Tubman, a heroine of hers, whose life's journey from captivity to freedom "spiritually" parallels Chyna's own personal life. Chyna is the Writer, Producer, and Director of a Gospel play called "Where is God Now Chile?!," a semi-biographical history detailing her Mother's life and battle with AIDS. Produced Off-B'way in New York several times. The story is loosely based on her Mom's experience as it relates to the "Church," and it's affects and responses to Christians diagnosed with AIDS / HIV. Her mother's bout ended in 1999 when she was called to a higher most glorious place of existence. Thousands of people have seen, felt, and been moved by Chyna's dramatic and artistic works. She continues to push herself into new realms of innovative possibilities. Mrs. Holley was the Executive Producer of The Spoken Soul at the Bowery in New York City. A fierce and poignant "Inspirational Poet" in her own right, Chyna opened at Caroline's on Broadway for World known B.E.T. Comedian/Poet SHANG. She has also contributed poetry, interviews, and articles to several publications including: The Shield; Changing Lanes; and, Mahogany Blues as a Freelance Journalist. Mrs. Holley is an accomplished columnist who has worked as an Editor for NY Poets.com, an online magazine. She has interviewed poets such as; Mums, Abyss, Uncle Sugar Johnson, MarXman, Hebrew Mamita, Shang, child prodigy - Autum Ashante' and Chris Slaughter. Darnelle is the founder/CEO of H2S Entertainment Cafe' (H2S - an acronym for Hummingbird to Sparrow) that, in addition to managing the careers of up and coming Artists, has produced the internet radio shows "DaSpokenSoul Show" broadcasting on both www.wePRAISE.fm and WAEC LOVE 860 AM in ATL, GA. Mrs. Holley's goal with H2S Entertainment Cafe' is to nurture artists of every race, creed or color who express their personal relationship with God through their artistic and creative gifts and talents.
Ms. Holley's future goals and vision are to include the development of Christian films, videos and plays. She would also like to have a franchise of Dinner Theaters in Atlanta, New York, and San Francisco. She is spirit-filled and hungry for the will of God to be exemplified in her life. Some of the women who inspire her are Actress/Singer and, Mother of Hip-Hop - Queen Latifa and, the brilliant and prolific Dr. Maya Angelou. Darnelle is the mother of five and recently became a grandmother. Mrs. Holley currently resides in North Augusta, SC.
