Arizona's Martin Luther King Day controversy
In 1986, an Arizona holiday honoring King had been declared, through an exectutive order by Governor Bruce Babbitt after a bill to create the holiday failed in the state legislature. A year later, though, newly-elected Governor Evan Mecham rescinded the holiday in 1987 on the grounds that the holiday had been illegally created.[3]
The NFL, which had an increasing percentage of African American players, and urged by the NFL Players' Association, voted to yank Super Bowl XXVII from Arizona, and awarded it instead to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
Two years after the loss of more the $350 million in major convention business and the 1993 Super Bowl, Arizona became the first and only state to popularly vote for and pass a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. State Holiday.
Ok, can I spit it like this, look around America, and you will see that we are becoming more of a melting pot then ever imagined. You no longer have black, white, or brown, but blaxican, blackanese, name it, the races are mixing. What does that mean? It means the Republican party has to take a serious look at itself, and be careful of it⿿s action in Arizona, or lose the Latino and Black vote in the future. The Latino and Black vote, can create a huge voting block make it happen. it is our time. Blacks and Latinos are more Republican than you think, we are pro-business, family oriented, and antiabortion.
But what. They give us free housing in the projects. Projects? Whose project are you? That⿿s where we are dying, where AIDS is rampant, schools are delapidated, a liquor store on the corner, most are felons. So we can⿿t vote, and fast food is abundant, to make us obese.

Let me thank Public Enemy for its push in the 1980s to make Arizona recognize Dr. King. Without the internet. Now, can Latinos and other races get it together, with the internet? We are predominantly Cathloic ⿿ so let⿿s get together like the Blacks did in the 1960s, and push back these discrimanitory laws. Latinos are the ones that help build the houses for your housing boom. Latinos are the ones that pick the vegetables and fruits that you eat. Latinos are the ones that cut your sandwhich meats.
It is time for the Latino Politicians and Black Politicians to get together and demand our voice. Blacks died for us, where hosed down, chased by dogs, to get the right to vote. The right to vote that Latinos now have.
Demand the end of Discrimination.
Take Governor Jan Brewer out of office, find the truth out about her. Investigate her. Find out more about her. Use the internet as your weapon, destroy her, what she did in college, did she cheat on her husband, are her children in trouble with the law, the revolution is here!
