The Violent Take it by Force
Matthew 11:12 From the time of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force. First of all we are in a war!!! There's no other way to look at it. We have to realize that we are in a sho nuff fight, and it's a fight for our very souls. It's the difference between heaven and hell, and we're fighting an enemy who never rests and never quits. He's attacking 24/7, and we must always be on guard. (1 Thessalonians 5:17, Ephesians 6:18, Philippians 4:6, Luke 21:36) Realize also the enemy is an expert in Guerilla warfare. He sets traps in places you would never think of looking or avoiding, and he uses people that you least expect. (The men and the women we at one time think may be the one or that friend we confide in who betrays us.) This is just one way that he attacks our trust. This affects our trust in people, ourselves, and God. We must realize we are in a war, we are God's soldiers, we're fighting (wrestling Ephesians 6:12) for the lost as well as our own souls and like it or not we are all on the front line one way or another. How are we on the front line you may be asking? Sometimes it's the prayer for a loved one to be saved or a word that brings confirmation. Sometimes it's that person who is an understanding listener who will be there for you no matter how long it takes. One way or another in some form or fashion we are all on the front line. Not only must we fight but we must fight with intensity and fervor. I could give you many different analogies to this but I think this one will suffice. Imagine if you will that someone has taken your children from you. You have the wretch in your sights but you are not helpless, you are not afraid. Instead you are confident that you can catch the assailant, because you have the skill and every weapon available to you to get your kids back. Let's face it they are your kids, you're going to be fighting with everything you've got with an intensity and endurance you've never fought with before. We must be like Jacob wrestling with the angel of the Lord. I won't let go until you bless me. (Genesis 32:24-32) Now what does all that mean? Well there is an assailant, but he is not made of flesh and blood. (Ephesians 6:12) And he is trying to steal from you. And if you are a child of God and I know you are, the things he's trying to steal are precious to you. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Gentleness, Goodness, Meekness, Temperance, and Faith. (Galatians 5:22-23) But you are not helpless, you are not afraid. (2 Timothy 1:7) You have the skill and every weapon available to you to defeat the assailant. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Now you must fight with an intensity and fervor like never before, but this fight is fought in the spiritual realm. So fight with Fasting and Prayer. Fasting brings a closer connection to God and clarity to recognize the tricks of satan. So fight with Praise no matter how steep the path, no matter how dark it may get, no matter how alone you may feel, no matter what satan uses to try to bring you down Give God Praise!!! Even when you don't understand Give God Praise!!! When you're hurting so bad that you don't know what to do Give God Praise!!! There are 2 verses that are really helpful to this fight. Psalm 22:3 which states that God inhabits the praises of His people. Let's think about this for a moment. If God inhabits the praises of His people, and He does. Then shouldn't we as Christians, when we are in trouble, instead of crying God where are you, shouldn't we just give Him praise to invite Him in our midst. Which brings us to the next verse (Ephesians 5:20) Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. If we're thanking God for everything good and bad and continually giving Him praise then He is continually in our midst and who can stand against Him? Notice the word continually. It means you keep doing it. It's like working out; you must be consistent and steadfast. (I won't let go until you bless me) You must not give up!!!! You must Persevere!!!! It must be spoken into the atmosphere. So no matter what I'll keep on fasting. No matter what I'll keep on praising. Lord I thank you for my healing, Lord I thank you for my Finances, Lord I thank you for saving my loved ones. Lord I thank you for the anointing, Lord I thank you for the call on my life. There is a call on your life. This time in your life is definitely a storm, but it is just for a season. You are a living testimony. And trust in this, God's people as well as His Potential people are being touched by the testimony that you are living. Through this time of trial you are yet being used by Him as He sees fit. Whenever it comes to your mind thank Him. Sitting at the table, looking at TV, waking up in the middle of the night, using the bathroom, driving in the car. This is how we fight; this is how we fight with intensity. This is how the violent take it by force. I won't let go until you bless me!!! Since the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force God Bless You!!! friends (32)favorite pages |
