When you realize only 45 short years ago blacks and whites could not drink from the same water fountain When you realize the first face of leadership and power for children from the ages 6 years old to 12 years old is the face of Barack Obama when you realize that the last 2 elections were stolen and not earned . When you realize that America has always preached & quot;democracy" but certain sectors of America has never felt it You then realize . In 2008, America has look towards a 47-year-old man named Barack Obama to lead this nation. A man with superb decision making skills, integrity, intelligence and fortitude... who just so happens to look like me. You then realize, the world is ready and millions of people have done the right thing. So yes, Michelle Obama, I hear you & quot;I have never been more proud of my country.& quot; Hundreds of nations worldwide had celebrations and rejoiced in America's new and true commitment to democracy. Russia applauded us. Germans, Greeks and Italians celebrated. People assembled in Africa and danced in the streets. Japan humbly tipped their hat.
Our soldiers in Iraq prayed together. And right here in American we cried and shouted "Yes We Can." We, the people (truly), selected our President and the world's response was "America, you have done good.& quot; I never experienced a feeling like that. I am not ignorant enough to believe Obama as one man, is going to save the world or pull us out of this rut we are in, but Obama represents more than that. He represents a new infusion of self-pride. He represents will power. He represents a change in our behavior. He represents true democracy. He represents a "do something!" era. He represents unity. He represents cultural harmony. He represents accountability. He represents a new image of Black America. He represents a new image of AMERICA. Beyond this mans political platform and celebrity endorsements, he represents CHANGE.
