WE have a stake in the advancemet of the world and it's resources but the way black Brothas & Sistas, are in love with technolgy is almost unnatural.Items we use range from the necessary like cars, bikes, wheelchairs, kitchen stuff, educational, entertainment and items that help our experience. There's a big difference between watching roots or something like that on TV to just having the latest Flattest, Widest screen you can find mainly so that people will be impressed with wasting money and global resources on this month's latest fad.Black people and black oriented (asian and white brothas & sistas) take it to the extreme. Put a Pop star on the latest item and pop goes the weasel. The desire for the latest item destroys up and coming developers and inventors chances of making an impact.

A better question is why aren't more black people WORKING in the technology field? I have for the past 13 years and just haven't encountered very many black people, nor have I encountered too many that can actually sit down and "talk tech".
