When you have 4 door family car weighting 2,800lbs carry four people all year round and grocery getting 42 mpg something wrong . Those 1500cc motorcycle getting in the fourty mile per gallon. They can only carry two people in good weather forget about carrying all your grocery. The bad thing these motorcycle weight around a1,000lbs. So the weight ratio,people carrying and the size of these motor these thing get bad gas mileage. Even a 650cc may get 80mpg but the ratio is bad

BUT

you're going to pay $100+ to fill up that 4 passenger/family car/truck etc.

You can indeed carry groceries - just get saddle bags - (and yes, they have them for crotch rockets too)....and you're going to pay $11-$15 to fill up your bike!
