A man of strength, but not his own
It comes from a higher source
On the Lord alone he does depend
And needs not to be forced
A man who loves his savior
And follows Jesus with his cross
He serves the God Almighty
No matter what the cost
He has his eye on Jesus
And listens to his voice
He meditates upon the Word
To make a Godly choice
This man is not perfect
But is willing to obey
He tries his best to please the Lord
Through all his lifelong days
He loves his wife and children
As Christ does love his sheep
He strives to keep them pure and holy
And protects them while they sleep.
His first love is his Savior
The second is his wife
His wedding vows are held up high
Through happiness and strife
A godly man is respected
By his wife and community
For he stands up for what the Bible says
And tries to help others see
A godly man hates the taste of sin
Of lust and hate and pride
He repents and asks forgiveness
Through the blood of Christ who died
A godly man seeks heaven
To accomplish all his goals
His aim is to evangelize the lost
And let Jesus use him to win souls
No matter what his life may bring
He stands on solid ground
And lifts unceasing prayers to God
On his knees his strength is found.
