Yes ma'am

Senator Obama, during a recent visit here in Michigan, called Channel 7 news reporter Peggy Agar "sweetie". At the time of the incident it was reported that Ms. Agar was offended by the term as she thought that is was used in a dismissive manner and lacked the proper professionalism that she expected (she would subsequently divulge that is was not the term "sweetie" that offended her, but rather the fact that the Senator did not answer the question... You are my friend

Pastor once said that too often we wait until our loves ones are dead before we bestow accolades upon them. We never let them know how much we appreciate them during life so that they can enjoy our appreciation of them. He said "let them smell the flowers while they're alive". So that's what I'm doing today.

You are the first person I call when times are hard. The first to be called when times are good. The one person who knows me better than anyone in the world. The... (continue reading)

What's going on and thanks for dropping by my page. It's your boy G-Do (correct pronunciation is G-Dough). Check out my blog to get the history behind the name if you want an unabridged version of it's origin.

I consider myself a great listener, though I must admit that it can take me quite a while to open up to others. I'm a great and loyal friend and I will do whatever I can to help my friends. I believe that I have learned how be open-minded and receptive to views and opinions of others. I can admit when I'm wrong and when others are right.

I love Detroit! There is no question that we have many challenges to overcome, but the city is coming back slowly, but surely. There are good people here though most media reports focus on the few asses who give us all a black eye. Stay tuned as the D is certainly not dead.

I love music; sweet sweet music. I remember pulling out my dad's albums and just listening to Parliment, AWB, EWF, the Isley Brothers, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, and Al Jarreau to name a few. A foundation in good music has lead me to appreciate what is good in music today: Incognito, Lalah Hathaway, Maysa, Ledisi, Rahsaan Patterson, Rachelle Ferrell, Fertile Ground, Brand New Heavies, Penny Wells, Donnie, Eric Roberson, N'Dea Davenport, Hil St. Soul, Sy Smith, Brown Baby Girl, Maya Azucena, Dwele, Kem and so many others.

I enjoy finding out about new artists; those who typically don't get radio play. My hope is that I'll be able to introduce those who visit my page to new artists. Check out my blog from time to time (in addtion to my friends below) as I will periodically profile different artists in the Indie Music Showcase. Take a listen to these artists and support independent music whenever possible.

I enjoy a good movie whenever time permits. Some of my favorites include, but are not limited to: Godfather and Godfather Part II (both are classic American movies, but Part III sucks!!), New Jack City, Goodfellas, Kill Bill Vol I and II, Blade, Road to Perdition, King of New York, Citizen Kane, Usual Suspects, Pulp Fiction, She's Gotta Have It, A Solider's Story, Purple Rain, Under The Cherry Moon (if you want to buy a Sam Cooke album, where would you go?), and School Daze.

As for television, must see TV for me inlcudes: Law & Order Criminal Intent , LOST, The Peoples Court, Judge Mathis (working on my J.D. in Court TV).

I'm a bit silly at times and I love to make people smile and laugh whenever possible. My sense of humor can sometimes be a bit over the top for some folks, but what can I say; it's who I am.

I'm a self made computer geek; meaning that I don't have any formal computer training, but I've taught myself how to do quite a few things. I love Jeopardy and Trivial Pursuit (my friends tend to call me first when ever they need the answer to some off the wall question). I enjoy an occasional adult beverage (usually I'm sipping on Heineken with a shot to tequila on the side). I'll never refuse an offer or invitation to go to Xochimilco.

Oh...I very rarely proof read, so if you find any typos, please let a brotha know.
