personal message

"We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid."

Ben Franklin

Please don't bother sending me a message if you make an effort to act stupid, it will be a waste of time.

I'm not normal; neither do I wish to be normal . I love those who stand out, those who are different and have the freedom to dream with their eyes open.

I am a gypsy, staying in one place doing the same thing again and again is not something that I am good at.

Bob Marley once said.. "in the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty!" I try to make sure that I am never thirsty when there is water around.

More Wisdom by Bob Marley;

"When one door is closed, dont you know another is open"

" Well, me don't swim too tough so me dont go in the water too deep"

After the war, many had expected the focus to shift to the economy and socio-economic affairs and that the troops would be coming home. The international media is already diverting its attention to new topics to avoid alienating viewers, and the newspapers are pushing the war to the back pages. But every now and then we are reminded - by a bombing or an audacious terrorist attack, that the war... (continue reading)

Paying our way out of Iraq (some old stuff I wrote)

Posted July 05th, 2007 at 12:57pm

By now we probably all agree that the sooner we pull out of Iraq the better - but are we willing to accept the sacrifices that will have to be made in order to achieve this goal? 'Staying the course' is the current mantra of the American Government, Congress and press; but a clear definition of what this means is elusive. However there is one solution that the Bush Administration may well be forced to adopt: that money talks and so paying your way out of the mess you created may be the only... (continue reading)

Iraq: a battlefield in the war against terror (old stuff I wrote)

Posted July 05th, 2007 at 12:54pm

Iraq has been liberated and its reconstruction has begun. The last remaining Saddam loyalists and certain Muslim fundamentalists are desperately fighting to prevent the Iraqis enjoying their new-found freedom, but are being mopped-up in pinpoint military operations. To the 'liberating' forces, the crusade against these last dissonant protagonists is a part of the greater war on terror, and it is deemed better to fight terrorists in Iraq than to confront them on American soil. This seemingly... (continue reading)
