I look for a positive, upbeat attitude in women and all people I spend time with. I feel that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you deal with it. Attitude can get you into a career or a relationship and it can keep you there as well. When things get tough, a positive attitude will carry you through it until things settle down.

Spirituality is also critical. I don't necessarily mean that you go to a service on Sunday. I mean how you live your life. Spirituality is translated into how one relates to other people, the environment and our planet. I like to ask "...how is your life impacting others?" And "is your impact a positive and spiritual connection?..."

I love the beach and the ocean. I feel that the arts and museums have a grounding effect on my view of the world and I try to make it to a museum at least once a week. I love movies. I love to dance but can only take clubs in small doses.

I love a great conversation. I feel language is the great equalizer in all of us and the primary connection that must be made. I`ll discuss just about any topic (music, food, renewable energy, atomic power, partisan politics, world travel or how funny you are (I hope).

On finding the right partner and preference in women: I do have a preference. Let me start by saying I adore my black sisters. They are the earth from which I am born. However, my experience has shown me that it's more about the quality of commitment, sincere attention, unyielding respect and genuine love I feel directed to me; verses the ethnic origin. From what I've seen of the world, I don't think any one culture or race has a lock on these elements. It just comes down to the capacity of a person to open their heart; and how much love a person is willing to share with the world. Show me true love and I'll give you my heart.

I don't care for cigarette smoking, trash talking, bad manners or rudeness. Life is to short to dodge these negatives.
