personal messagePeace and Love Black People! I've been on BP for about 7 months now and I'd like to share my observations. First let me say that black folk are without a doubt the most beautiful people in the world, period. When you look at our beauty it is a testament to the fact that there must be a higher power at work!!! Brothas you are absolutely beautiful and it is a joy to behold your beauty. I only wish that I could say the same for your actions in relating. All of the beauty in the world means nothing if there is no intellect and integrity to go with it. I challenge each of you to strive to be as beautiful inside (where it really counts) as you are outside. It is my desire that we would begin to wake up as people of color and become culturally competent and conscious in all aspects of our life. Sistas you are beautiful as well; however you have forgotten the woman is the keeper of morality and you have lost your righteous minds. Remember that we are the builders of nations. Whatever type of brotha we want we have but to create him; that is not done through sex and lust, but through sense and love. My heart grows sad when I see you expose and sell your beauty. I wish that you could recognize who you are and whose you are so that we could turn this thing around. Nevertheless, I want to remain positive and I won't allow the world to make my heart of gold turn cold. I got love for my people, all of my people. I overstand the madness and I continue to be comitted to doing my part to help them to "break the chain of ignorance and get connected to their culture". I am a little black girl from Memphis, the 10th of eleven. I was told at an early age that I was special and I believed it. I believe that thoughts become things; and, whatever you send out is coming right back at you tenfold, so I try to be careful about what I send. I'm a retired entrepreneur. and educator. A mother of two adult daughters and one grandson. I'm 46 years young and I'm creating the remix as we speak. I get excited just thinking about the choices; I really like having choices. I recently relocated to Carbondale to complete my PhD in African History and possibly Education Administration as well. I'm a lifelong learner. I'm single. I'm very spiritual, kind, loving, and to the point. I don't know how to be anything but real and down to earth. My future includes teaching, consulting, writing, speaking and loving a good black man til the day I transition. I enjoy reading, dancing, working out, growing plants, metaphysics, ancient eastern cultures, history, and philosophies, mentoring young people, anything off the beaten path, creating a loving home for my mate, and stimulating conversations...especially the kind that end in ecstacy :). Although I'm in school, when I am in a relationship there is nothing that is more important to me. Afterall we were put here for each other...I am a woman and no matter what else I accomplish in life...I need and want a good man. Like most sistas I've had my share of choosing poorly which resulted in my being in relationships with those of the male species who were not yet ready, and perhaps neither was I. However, at this point I am ready, I am patient, and I am confident that all of my desires will be fulfilled. Ashe. interests
