personal message

Now is the time to better ourselves. Please do not cling to excuses anymore. A brilliant, talented, multiracial man has become President of the United States of America. Why! Because he did not make excuses or look for all of the reasons why he could not succeed. Instead, he took action and looked for all of the reasons why he could succeed. As a result, he did succeed, making history in the process. This is something that my parents and grandparents said could never be, and something that I thought that I would not see in my lifetime. Well! That reality has now been dramatically altered, and I hope that as a result of this unlikely success story, we will no longer cling to the limited thinking that has held us back far too long, and has allowed others who were less intelligent, less gifted, and less talented to rise above. It is time to stop covering up a lack of focus, motivation, discipline, and aspiration with the "they won't let me succeed anyway" excuse. Senator Barack Obama risked, and continues to risk everything that is important to him in order to bring about the positive change that this nation's survival depends on. So instead of making excuses as to why we cannot achieve greater individual achievements, as well as greater achievements as a race of people, lets do what Senator Obama, and now President Elect Obama did; let's remain focused, remain motivated, cultivate self discipline, and aspire to greatness. And after doing this, we must protect these attributes on a continuous basis, never letting down our guards, then excuses will be unnecssary, and success will be iminent.
