Riser Of The Month
George L. Cook III, Hillside, NJ
BlackPlanet Rising is excited to announce our first member to be recognized for contributions in their community. In the spirit of the BPR movement, George L. Cook has made giving back a personal mission. As a soldier, community activist, political advocate, coach, husband, and father, George provides support to those around him. Most recently, he has created a petition to increase the coverage of missing Black women on cable & broadcast networks, in the hopes that more exposure will lead to finding these women and reuniting them with their loved ones. Click here to learn more about George's crusade to get major networks to allocate :30 of every hour of news programming aired to highlight these missing women. We salute George's efforts to help his community rise up and make a difference!
