LIFEbeat mobilizes the talents and resources of the music industry to raise HIV/AIDS awareness and to provide support to the AIDS community.
In 1992, Bob Caviano, a respected music manager disclosed his illness in Billboard magazine and challenged the industry to take action. A number of high-level executives heeded his call and formed LIFEbeat.
LIFEbeat has carved out a niche by using music to reach the youth population. We strive to cultivate a strong sense of self-worth and self- respect in youth to help them resist negative influences that may lead to risky behavior.
A dedicated staff, an active Board of Directors, a wonderful group of volunteers and a network of AIDS service organizations helps reach young people via our outreach efforts.
