What SRG means

The term Renaissance Man is used to describe a person who is well educated or who excels in a wide variety of subjects or fields. This idea developed in Renaissance Italy from the notion expressed by one of its most accomplished representatives, Leon Battista Alberti (1404⿿72): that ⿿a man can do all things if he will.⿝ It embodied the basic tenets of Renaissance Humanism which considered man empowered, limitless in his capacities for development, and led to the notion that people should embrace all knowledge and develop their capacities as fully as possible. Thus the gifted men of the Renaissance sought to develop skills in all areas of knowledge, in physical development, in social accomplishments and in the arts.

In ancient times, a gentleman was thought of as a noble man, a man of honor, and a man who conducted himself with moral integrity. The modern gentleman, is someone who is committed to change and creating a path of life for him that includes success in a career or education, integrity, and gaining self-respect, respect amongst his peers, with his family, and, of course, with women.

In the Southeastern portion of the United States a unique character appeared from the South⿿s heritage and hospitality :the Southern Gentlemen. A southern gentleman has good manners he does things like say yes sir and yes ma⿿am, he opens all doors for his lady, always makes sure to have the lady on far side of the sidewalk so she wouldn't be the first to get hit by a car, he even pulls out chairs for his woman and her mother or his mother.. he is well groomed and is someone you could introduce to anyone with pride.. he knows to show up with flowers for his lady and knows to bring them the first time he meets his Lady's mother for the mother⿦ he never cusses⿦and very thoughtful. He looks at you when you⿿re talking ⿿ looks you right in the eye. He exudes confidence and cordiality.

A Southern Renaisance Gentlemen (SRG) embodies qualities from all of these terms. Through the personification of these principals, a SRG is the jack that has mastered his mind body and soul. He has his life together and makes his community and his nation better.
