Why is it that we as people allow society to change us and make us disassociate our selves from our heritage and our own people? Sometimes I think that we are a lost people only searching for what makes us feel good or what makes us fit into what society say's is right, instead of doing what's right and being our selves. In most cases we go through life only thinking about self instead of taking the time to ask our self how does this make me and my race look. Being a black man in a white society I have at times found myself conforming to what society wants me to be. At times I have even resented my people for their ignorance without any understand. I say to myself no more will I be judgmental toward my people. I also ask of my people to have a self evaluation and ask yourself "How does what I am doing affect me and how does it represent my race?" Let's stop making excuses my people because Barrack has shown us that there is no more excuses for we can achieve the ultimate. Never in a million years would I believe that we would have a black president but we do. So what that show's you is that we are a resilient race with goals that could reach unimaginable feats if we just simply put our minds to it. So question to all my people who are you, what are, and now that you know who you are what are you going to do about it to make you a better person?
