Just read this WSJ article a friend sent me - http://online.wsj.com/article_ email/SB122039919493892941-lMy QjAxMDI4MjAwMzMwOTM5Wj.html. The article is clearly written from the standard conservative viewpoint that subscribes to Reagan's trickle-down theory. The "tax increase" they criticize is actually an elimination of the tax breaks that Bush instituted when he was elected - which have partially created the massive deficit the country now faces (which was a surplus under Clinton). My pastor told a story that when he made a general visit to Harlem Hospital earlier this summer he met an old man in his 90s who was seeking a transplant. He asked him if he had lived a happy life and tried to prepare him for the fact that his chances probably weren't good for receieving a transplant at his age. With emotion, the man said he wanted the transplant because he just needed to make it a few more months to see Obama get elected.
