Purpose:

To assemble and/or install piping components of a passenger railcar that supports the organization s production goals and objectives while meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations

Essential Duties:

Consistently demonstrate ability to read and/or interpret piping drawing(s) and technical guidance(s)

Layout piece parts by use of various measuring tools and install through various methods

Prep, assemble and install piping assemblies through soldering, brazing, threading and cleaning various types of pipe

Consistently demonstrate understanding of core assembly methods

Comply with all regulatory compliances/standards such as FRA, OSHA, EPA, ADAAA etc.

Interface with other team members productively and share information as required

Follow all company policies, procedures and safety rules

Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED

1 to 2 years of piping experience preferred

Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and specifications for piping components and design

Ability to read and interpret dimension by use of tape measure, etc.

Ability to identify various types of piping material

Ability to use hand tools proficiently, such as: clamps, drill, tap, grinder, impact wrench, ratchet, spanner, caulking gun, torque wrench, pipe wrench, soldering, welding, threading, plier, hydraulic press, hydraulic jack, air tools, electric tools and hydraulic tools

Desired Qualifications:* Experience with building complex assemblies, both large and small* Fork truck and crane experience preferred* Self-motivated and self-directed individual qualities* Works well with deadliness* Works well in a team environment
