Customer Logistics Manager (Minneapolis, MN)

SCOPE OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for expert to expert interface with key customers in Field Sales, providing continuous improvement to our supply chain, logistics, and operations with our customers in the Direct Selling Organization.  Activities include network optimization, performance metrics benchmarking and score-carding, customer service and S&OP process improvement. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include administrative and execution of the following; other duties may be assigned.

 Provide support for our key account teams, sales representatives and customer service teams, managing expert to expert relationships with the supply chain groups at key customers.
 Responsible for transportation analysis, network optimization opportunities with key customers, and subsequent cost savings analysis and the implementation strategies
 Work with key customers, shipping sites, and customer service to improve operational and performance metrics.
 Benchmark industry leaders for supply chain efficiencies; develop key customer supply chain metrics (minimums acceptable performance criteria) and scorecard Pinnacle logistics performance against those critical metrics.
 Recommend best practices and continuous improvement to current S&OP process, and improve field sales forecasting process.
 Disseminate monthly scorecards and monitor overall performance against scorecard goals and expectations
 Provide recommendations for improvement and cost reduction of reclamation processes.  Analyze point to point shipping opportunities (to include Plant Direct shipments) and optimize layer/pallet/case pick expenditures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Experience with LTL, FTL, 3PL
 Experience with freight and critical delivery situations a plus

 


EDUCATION:
 BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent  
EXPERIENCE:
 Minimum 5 years experience in logistics and transportation
 Experience in CPG environment working directly with key retailers.

SKILLS/PROFICIENCIES:
 
 Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Proven ability to lead, influence and motivate others.
 Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. 
 Flexible and adaptable to fast changing environment.
