Our Nuclear Power Plants Business Unit, based out of our corporate headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA, specializes in product development, systems engineering, component design, equipment manufacturing, and project management for new nuclear power plants worldwide. It is within this Business Unit that developed the AP1000 design, the safest and most economical nuclear power plant available in the worldwide commercial market place.In this position, an Engineering Manager can expect to perform the following duties:- Manage Site Engineering office staff of 20 plus engineers, administrative, and document/drawing services personnel including budget, hiring, and performance evaluations.- Provide on-site technical interface with the customer and construction company on various engineering matters related to the design and construction of the AP1000 units in Vogtle or VC Summer- Lead the Site Engineering Team of discipline engineers to ensure quality and timely resolution of site engineering issues- Interface with Vogtle or VC Summer site management team as the Westinghouse single point of contact for on-site engineering activities- Provide mentoring, employee development, and training to the integrated site engineering team- Coordinate the interface between our Site Engineering Group, the home office, and the customers technical team on the resolution of complex engineering issues.- Interface with various vendors/fabricators and suppliers to resolve engineering and design issues.- Reconcile field design variations, testing deficiencies, and process design change requests.- Investigating and resolving fit-up or sequencing problems in relation to the approved design.- Provide engineering support for the disposition of Nonconformance reports.- Resolving procurement related equipment changes.- Answering Information requests from Construction/ Startup/Customer groups.- Reviewing construction/startup test procedures to ensure compliance with engineering specifications- Ensuring that systematic controls are in place to ensure the design and construction activities are performed using the latest applicable design documentation and maintain configuration control- Ensuring proper tracking and performance measurement of engineering related services. - Key competencies of this position include teamwork, communication, delivering customer success and driving for results.**Position will be temporary assignment in Cranberry Township PA for training and permanent relocation to the Vogtle jobsite in 2010/2011.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have:-Typically 15 or more yearsConstruction or Site EngineeringDesign or Modification package development - Experience in nuclear design and construction- Professional Engineering License preferred- Experience in managing complex projects*Candidate may be required to travel to domestic and international sites.Education Requirements:*Bachelors Degree in Engineering**PE or EIT Preferred
