Senior Patient Accounting Specialist, HospitalActs as a liaison for both internal and external customers providing assistance in claims submission and resolution: Review, analyzes, completes and submits appropriate forms required either pre or post billing; Ensures completeness of claims following billing requirements promoting prompt and accurate submission and payment; Reviews and responds to correspondence and inquiries generated by third party payers to expedite claims; Provides guidance and assistance to Patient Accounting Specialist with research and resolution for difficult claims. Contacts patients, guarantors, and/or third party organizations to secure information. Prepares and maintains patient billing records to assist in the adjudication of claims. Provides extensive customer support service.

Job Requirements 3+ years experience in a similar patient or hospital billing/accounting setting with demonstrated productivity and efficiency. Billing follow-up experience required. Extensive working knowledge of claims submission (UB92s strongly preferred). Demonstrated understanding of third party payers. Advanced understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding and medical terminology. Demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to customers. Strong interpersonal and communications skills. PC skills with proficient data entry skills.

Educational RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in Business or Healthcare preferred.
